Got me, let's say he wanted a same sex wedding cake.
So by claiming he's gay places a heterosexual male into a protected group? Do I have that right?
Nope.
Heterosexual = Sexual Orientation
Homosexual = Sexual Orientation
The law protects against discrimination in places of Public Accommodation based on sexual orientation. A baker can't refuse to sell a wedding cake to a male because he claims to be heterosexual either. Therefore he is already included in the "protected group".
You can't deny service to a man who is Catholic and claims to be Jewish because he's Jewish, the fact that you don't know what his religion "really" is is irrelevant to the act of discrimination.
