Bakers fined for not working homosexual "wedding" continue fighting for their freedoms

I'm quite SURE that these so-called "faithful" religious people are not any better than anyone else when it comes to sinning. :D
I'm sure they are not. What's your point? That someone only has the right to practice their faith if they are sin free?

Those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones!

So what if a bible condemns homosexuality? This is a secular country...not Iran.
This is not a secular country. People came to this nation escaping religious persecution. That's why we have the 1st Amendment guaranteeing our right to practice our religion.

So we've established that you don't know how you own government functions, you don't know what your country actually stands for, and you can't read a 3 page document like the U.S. Constitution. Geezus...no wonder you're a progressive. You'd never survive without someone providing for you.

This is a secular country, sorry to break it to you. Why do you care what other people do in their private lives? If the busybodies would just live and let live, then we wouldn't have these silly issues. I mean seriously, this is SO stupid. Only a nutty religious fanatic would hold such views, and I KNOW that you are not a religious fanatic. Lol.
I don't care what people do in their private lives. At all. I have zero problem with someone being homosexual. That's not the issue here. Either you're struggling to follow along or your intentionally creating a false narrative because you can't justify your position.

The issue is government forcing people to do something which they have no authority to force people to do. We would all get along if everyone would stop acting like fascist Nazis and just embrace freedom. If someone doesn't want to bake you a freaking cake - deal with it. Just go find someone else to bake it. That's what the free market is all about. Choice. The choice to decide who to use for your wedding and the choice to decide as the business who to do business with.

Why do you people fear freedom and choice so much?
Nobody forced anybody to get a business license.....

And your 1st Amendment rights stop when you discriminate against the law too
First of all genius, once cannot "discriminate against the law". You can't break the law. You can violate the law. But you can only discriminate against people.

Second - the government has no legal authority to make a law forcing me to abandon my faith and engage in business transactions. What has occurred is highly illegal and it is the result of fascist progressives run amok. You don't get to force your views on others. You want to bake a cake for a gay wedding - go for it. But you don't have the right to force other people into labor.

I know progressives/Dumbocrats were the party of slavery, attacked their own country over slavery, and still deeply desire slavery - but it was outlawed over a century ago. Deal with it dear. Move on.

They aren't throwing stones. They are simply trying to practice their faith. Again I ask - is your position that nobody is allowed to practice their faith unless they are sin free?

I think it has less to do with faith and more to do with hate. They don't like homosexuals because homosexuality disgusts them. They aren't able to look past the "sexuality" issues to see that homosexuals are just people too. Their sexuality does not define them as people.

But sadly you're attempting to force people to perform their labor for you. Slavery has been outlawed dear. People get to decide for themselves when, where, and how they sell their labor. I know you guys are the party of slavery but it is time to let this one go. It's been over a century now sweetie. Time to move on.

Even if that is true - we are afforded the freedom to hate in this country. Instead of crying about it - you should be celebrating it. That's the ultimate freedom.

Stop trying to be little fascists dictating what is "right" and what is "wrong" to society and simply embrace freedom. If someone wants to be hateful, racist, and bigoted, let them be. Who gives a shit? It's just a shining example of how great this country is. That anyone can embrace any views that they want to embrace.

Show us how baking cakes is "practicing religion"...Do they pray over them? Church of St. Betty Crocker?
Because it forces them to play a part in a gay wedding. That's something they do not want to do. Why is that such a problem for you Adolf? Why do you feel that you must force everyone to do what you want them to do?

Can a shop specializing in baking cakes object to baking a cake for a gay wedding?

Yep. In some states.

I think we need to amend the Federal PA laws.

Yep, to include forcing gay graphic designers to make huge highway billboard signs for Christian clients that say "Homosexuality is a sin unto God"; even if they found it utterly repugnant and wholly ideologically objectionable.

Okay but only if it is in Rainbow colors.........But wouldn't it be a sin to patronize a Gay Business?

Sorry, but your state sets business regulations, and you agree to follow those regulations when you apply for your business permit. If you want to be an asshole in your personal life, that's your business. You don't have any right to discriminate against someone else when it comes to business matters.

If you are going to open a business that serves the public, then be aware, the public includes people you may not agree with.
Microsoft serves the public. The sell their Windows O/S in retail stores across the nation (such as Best Buy, etc.). Does that mean the government has the right and the power to force them into a lucrative business contracts with their competitors like Apple and Google? Should they be forced to purchase their hardware from Apple and some of their software from Google? :banghead:

That's completely different than a public accommodation business refusing to serve a portion of the public based on discriminatory reasons.

Get over yourselves. You follow the law like we all do. You aren't special. In fact, most so called religious people are the WORST kind of people from my experiences in life and here on this forum.

Sure you do. Because contrary to the astoundingly ignorant belief of progressives - businesses are not an extension of the United States government. They do not exist to serve the people. They are a private entity on private property that exists to make a profit.

Furthermore....when these individuals "applied for their business permits" these types of asinine laws did not exist. These are new. So these businesses are grandfathered in anyway by your logic.

How? How is that even remotely different?!? Explain it. You can't just yell "that's different" and then run away if you want anyone to seriously consider your views.

I'm still trying to figure out WHY they are so opposed to baking a cake for a homosexual wedding? It's just business. I don't understand how you can treat other people like that either.

Agree...it does seem rather petty for a peripheral service
And frankly - if I was a baker, I would make the cake. Why lose out on the business?

But that's not the issue. The issue is that it violates their faith. And the government has no right to make them violate their faith. The government simply does not have the authority to tell private people on private property that they must enter into business transactions.

The government has no right to force an individual to violate their faith......a business is a different matter

That's the same astoundingly ignorant battle cry that progressives used during slavery. They told the slaves crying for freedom to "get over yourselves" and to "follow the law". Unfortunately for those progressives, the slaves knew that the law was outrageous, illegal, and unconstitutional.

Want to bet? Show me where in the Constitution it grants to government the power over private institutions on private property. And don't even come at me with that weak ass "Commerce Clause" argument because the Commerce Clause applies to foreign commerce (as it clearly states) and matters of interstate commerce (as it clearly states). When a citizen of Oregon attempts to buy a cake from a bakery in Oregon, that is neither "foreign" nor "interstate". So? How about chief? What are going to make up now?

"To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes."
