Bakers fined for not working homosexual "wedding" continue fighting for their freedoms

But...but...California voted against it 15 years ago
15 years ago?!? It was 2010! Just a few short years ago. My word are you a pathological liar.
California Proposition 22 (2000) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Will you apologizing to rightwinger now?
It wasn't Proposition 22, liar. It was Proposition 8. Will you admit you are a liar now?

California Proposition 8 (2008) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Guess again....they both were about gay marriage. Now, where is your apology to rightwinger?

I'm still trying to figure out WHY they are so opposed to baking a cake for a homosexual wedding? It's just business. I don't understand how you can treat other people like that either.
Because it violates their faith ChrisL.

I think, if there's a God, he would want us to treat others with kindness and dignity. They are your brothers and sisters.
He does. But the Bible also rejects homosexuality. And it's not a lack of kindness nor a lack of dignity to politely say "thanks...but no thanks - this violates my faith" when asked to bake a cake for a gay wedding.

And if that homosexual couple treated people with kindness and dignity they would respond "ok - thank you for your time. We will find someone else to bake our cake for us". Why is that so hard? Everybody wins. Freedom. Choice.
So what if a bible condemns homosexuality? This is a secular country...not Iran.

Unless your business is "faith based" then you are just a regular business and you have to follow the same rules and regulations that everyone else does. Sorry but your faith doesn't make you "special."

And you fascist democrats used the courts to get you way because you couldn't otherwise force the people to agree with you....
You forgot to add "illegally used the courts" - because the federal government (of which the Supreme Court is a part of) has 0 authority over marriage. They had no legal grounds to even hear the case.
In your opinion....where did you get your Constitutional Law degree again?

A piece of paper doesn't make someone right on something, it just makes lemmings like you swoon at their credentials.
In your opinion, of course.

There is no guessing sweetie. The most recent vote was 2008. Far from "15 years ago". Why even mention a previous vote when the most recent is the latest indication of the feelings of the people?

Now where is your acknowledgment that you are a liar? You knew damn well that Proposition 8 was the most recent vote. You lied about it to keep the progressive false narrative going.

Great point!

Sorry, but the 1st Amendment says otherwise...it protects the American people from that kind of absurdity that I have to follow the crowd and Nazi goose-step in the exact same direction.

The United States was founded on, and built for, the individual. It is not about the collective.

So...you won't apologize...guess that makes YOU the liar. Quell surprise. RW christers aren't known for their honesty.

So you can do anything you want if you cry religious freedom? That's the stupidity you are advocating.

This is not a secular country. People came to this nation escaping religious persecution. That's why we have the 1st Amendment guaranteeing our right to practice our religion.

So we've established that you don't know how you own government functions, you don't know what your country actually stands for, and you can't read a 3 page document like the U.S. Constitution. Geezus...no wonder you're a progressive. You'd never survive without someone providing for you.

Nice try sweetie. You just got bent over and you know it. You can correct that by acknowledging you lied. Proposition 8 was not 15 years ago and everyone here knows it.

Back to stating the obvious again, are we?

Not at all. My 1st Amendment rights end where your rights begin. For instance - I don't have the religious right to kill you because that strips you of your right to life.

But guess what? You don't have the right to my labor. That's called slavery and it was outlawed years ago. I reserve the right to sell my labor as I see fit. When I want. To who I want. And the Constitution guarantees me that much.

This is a secular country, sorry to break it to you. Why do you care what other people do in their private lives? If the busybodies would just live and let live, then we wouldn't have these silly issues. I mean seriously, this is SO stupid. Only a nutty religious fanatic would hold such views, and I KNOW that you are not a religious fanatic. Lol.

And your 1st Amendment rights stop when you discriminate against the law too
I'm quite SURE that these so-called "faithful" religious people are not any better than anyone else when it comes to sinning. :D
I wonder if they work so tirelessly to not serve other sinners.....oops.

I don't care what people do in their private lives. At all. I have zero problem with someone being homosexual. That's not the issue here. Either you're struggling to follow along or your intentionally creating a false narrative because you can't justify your position.

The issue is government forcing people to do something which they have no authority to force people to do. We would all get along if everyone would stop acting like fascist Nazis and just embrace freedom. If someone doesn't want to bake you a freaking cake - deal with it. Just go find someone else to bake it. That's what the free market is all about. Choice. The choice to decide who to use for your wedding and the choice to decide as the business who to do business with.

Why do you people fear freedom and choice so much?

I'm sure they are not. What's your point? That someone only has the right to practice their faith if they are sin free?

Don't want to follow business laws of your state...don't get a business license...it's that simple.

Show us how baking cakes is "practicing religion"...Do they pray over them? Church of St. Betty Crocker?
