Because religion is protected under the constitution and ass-sex isn't. There's actual wording protecting religions. There's only a false interpretation by the Court that "gays are a class". The 7th circuit however just said "no they aren't when it comes to the Civil Rights Act" in Hively v Ivy Tech. Minority behaviors not specified in the Constitution, like religion is, cannot gain special protection from the majority rule.So...again...why do these bakers deserve special rights that no one else with an Oregon business license gets?
Why doesn't any other business in Oregon get to say...I object to weddings between Jews and Christians so they can take their business elsewhere
You're going to find this out soon in the various cases making their way Up. But for now, you can take my word for it. Ginsburg will either die or be retired and the next appointment approved by Congress will have to be conservative for sure, to replace that vacuum left by Scalia. If the Congress has a senate majority which is republican, it will be two conservative or middle conservative and a conservative. Enjoy your "victory" in Obergefell while you can.., the case that bothered Scalia more than any other before he was found dead with a pillow over his head.
