Bad news, doesn't look like a recession

Bad news for some of you, retail sales for the month of May are up 17.7%. Which more than doubled what the "experts" had expected. Sure doesn't sound like a recession.

Retail sales saw record surge in May, signaling economic rebound

Don't worry....if biden gets in, the country will go into the Great Depression the democrats have been hoping for since the Chinese Flu shut down the economy.........they learned a lot from the Great Depression of the democrat party, and FDR in the 1930s......make people poor, hopeless and afraid, and you can pass all kinds of cool government control programs....and they just can't wait.

President Trump lead us through the shortest recession in history, he's that good! :eusa_clap:

Yep.......remember in November....if biden gets in, we go into a Great Depression....... something the democrat party is praying to their god, "Government" to happen....

And they would blame it all on Trump. Nothing is ever the Dem's fault that's their #1 rule.

We have a superbull at the helm. Even as democrats are burning down cities, the economy just keeps getting better.

Well now, I don't want you to lose your hard-on for a guy who's terrified of ramps and can't drink from a glass with one hand, but there was this from the article, too:

"But analysts caution that some of the gains thus far probably reflect the impact of temporary government aid and expanded unemployment benefits in the face of a deep recession. The jobless rate is a historically high 13.3% by the government's standard measure and an even worse 21.2% by the broadest gauge of unemployment. For now, Americans are spending disproportionately more on essentials and less on luxuries.""""

What happens when the benefits end next month?

Trump was right about there being a "pent up demand" from the shut down, but if unemployment continues around 17-18% as stated above, this is a short-lived recovery.

If the jobs don't come back, the spending will stop.
That May spending spree was people spending their $1200-3400 stimulus checks + $600/week additional unemployment bennies.
