It looks like other nations are learning from our experience with the Right..first, Canada, and now Australia have reversed trends and voted in leftist Labor Governments.
Both of the candidates were trailing a few months ago. They forged to the victory almost solely on the anger of the electorate resulting from Trump's erratic tariffs and his nationalistic rhetoric:

Australia’s Anthony Albanese claimed a historic second term as prime minister on Saturday in a dramatic comeback against once-resurgent conservatives that was powered by voters' concerns about the influence of U.S. President Donald Trump.

Peter Dutton, leader of the conservative Liberal party, conceded defeat and the loss of his own seat - echoing the fate of Canada's conservatives and their leader whose election losses days earlier were also attributed to a Trump backlash.

I hope this doesnt mean Australia is going to become a vassal state of communist china

Anger at trump is one thing, but national suicide is something else

Australia and New Zealand are heavily influenced by China.

I suspect that the U.S will in time either leave the Five Eyes, or, accelerate what they have been doing for years now and that is decrease the amount of intelligence they share with these other nations.

The French have blocked their right wing leader from running.

The Germans are using their intelligence agencies to "investigate" the right wing candidates there. Both of these Parties I believe finished second in the last election. Labelling them as "extremists". Which may be true, I don't know, but what Merkel did for her time in power was as extreme as one could get without a label. Mothballing all of your nuclear power to buy Russian oil? Allow millions unveted into your country and they dont even speak German?

THAT is just as extreme as any policy I can think of.

I don;t know much about the German or French Parties and they probably have some racists and xenophobes. However, you should be able to use the courts to prevent any egregious laws they might try to push through. Ultimately, the voters MUST choose, right or wrong. The courts must protect against any who cross a line. With France and Germany both acting in unison, it is causing major concerns with those who believe in true democracy.

In short, the West has abandoned their values. What's the difference between their actions and that which Putin would take? You can't just eliminate any party that people vote because you don't like their policies.

This is why Trump would be wise to focus on Japan, S Korea etc. Western Europe has been intoxicated by seeing Chinas power. The damage they have done to their nations in the process spells doom for their economic and social prosperity.

The dynamic was the same in Canada and Australia. The conservatives favor policies that are similar to Trump's, but the public largely hates Trump, so they have to bash Trump while supporting his governing philosophies.

It is truly a conundrum.

TDS is not limited to the U.S.

They are voting for stability over the desire and acceptance of chaos to achieve quick goals of the populists. It is totally understandable.

I think its a setback in appearance only

Australia may not like trump, but they like communist china even less

The Aussie’s, I suspect, still see the communist dictatorship for the threat that it is

And I hope that's not just wishful thinking on my part

It is wishful thinking to a large degree.

Yes, they feel threatened since China ran drills near their island. However, they also lobbied this very government to side with them rather than America. This re-election had to have been greatly influenced by the MSS

Stability? DO you know how bad of a shape Australia is in right now?

They are walking into Chinas arms, This didn't start with Trump, it's been going on for a couple of decades, by design.

China is willing to bribe foreign leaders to get what it wants

And its not always cash under the table

Campaign donations laundered through intermediaries, sexy honeypots, endowments to universities ect have been successful in the past

But they cant bribe the whole nation so success is never a sure thing

Another magnificent Trumpfy victory as he further solidifies Deep State members .

Gullibles actually believe that it represents failed Trumpfy tactics .

Trump proves to be toxic on another continent.People dont like his policies or his personality. Only morons would vote for him.

The opposition leader is a dodgy figure who copied some of Trump's policies. Dutton pledged to "make government more efficient" and announced that he would create a DOGE to make large-scale cuts to government staff. He also said that the government's diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) staff will be fired, which could be a popular idea. A recent survey showed that opposition to DEI had doubled in Australia since 2017.

Dutton underestimated Australia's anti-Americanism which is more pronounced in Australian domestic politics. Anthony Albanese recently acknowledged his Albanian roots but claimed that the Australian people have voted for Australian values. Australian PM Anthony Albanese after defeating Trump imitator Peter Dutton: "We do not need to beg or borrow or copy from anywhere else. We do not seek our inspiration overseas. We find it right here in our values and in our people."

Fortunately other democracies have the good sense to reject America’s embrace of fascism.
