I think that in order to get a law degree and ever serve as a judge or Justice then you must demonstrate an understanding of the Bill of Rights. Like knowing what the phrase "shall not be infringed" means.
Unfortunate too many judges don't understand the Bill of Rights.
This is as ridiculous as it is ignorant and wrong.
In order to serve as a judge or justice one must understand Constitutional case law and respect that precedent ā including understanding the fact that laws and measures enacted consistent with Constitutional case law in no manner āinfringeā on citizensā rights.
Clearly conservatives donāt understand the Bill of Rights ā or the rest of the Constitution, for that matter.
Wrong.
The problem is the Founder had built in violations of rights, like slavery, so then could not put into the Constitution what they knew it should have.
So the Constitution only limited the federal government, and did not try to do anything else.
For example, there were state religions back then, like Penn's Sylvania and the Pilgrims at Plymouth Rock.
That is the only reason why we have wishy washy case law and precedent, as the SCOTUS slowly incorporated the Bill of Rights against all levels of government.
On gun issues, those in favor of gun control are clearly totally wrong.
Since the source of all legal authority in a democratic republic can only come from individual rights, then you can not have police or military have weapons inaccessible to ordinary people
You could have restrictions like registration, limited use, etc., but the idea of gun control in general is just totally and completely wrong, illegal, and can only lead to a police state dictatorship.
