A real danger everyone should know about

Boy, I could not make this up if I tried.
The cancer causing asbestos is being used in wind turbines. To what extent is not known. It is now under investigation.

Wimd turbines litter farm fields with micro plastics and chemicals now we find out wind turbines create clouds of asbestos

Asbestos is a friable material that gets trapped in the lungs causing cancer

The problem was discovered in austrailia

The Clean Energy Regulator, SafeWork New South Wales, and WorkSafe Victoria all launched investigations into the discovery.

The investigations prompted other wind farm operators to check their brake pads.

Over the weekend, Goldwind revealed they tested the parts – supplied by Chinese manufacturer 3S Industries – and found they did contain asbestos.

wow so when they built and designed these they added a good but lethal flame retardant but there are plenty of pictures of these turbines going up in flames so it's not working so good?
Apparently they did not need to submit their design for review to the EPA or in other countries some agency of the same type?

not much oversight

Years ago, guess what we found the brake pads on my cruiser's boat davits were made of?

You guessed it! We had to have new brake pads made and purge the supply system because our ship was built in the early 1960s when asbestos was as common as dirt. I doubt anyone had ever replaced them in the ships 25-year lifetime.

I can imagine the damage was limited because how often were the brakes even used? There would never be clouds of asbestos as depicted.

China has enough people that mesothelioma killing people is no big deal.

Supplied by a Chinese manufacturer.
Surprised they didn't add Fentynal for extra measure.

Why again is anyone getting shit from China? They sure as hell aren't known for quality, safety or environmental concerns.

I see you discovered the reason all on your own.
Guess that is a backhand slap.......?

well you want quality or garbage, you must pay for quality in everything

snap-on tools will last forever, stanley tools about a few years

You get what you pay for

Automobile brake pads were made of asbestos up until 2019.

If you were standing at an intersection, God only knows how much of that shit you were breathing in.

That's why I use Kobalt.
Still considered low end, made by 3rd parties for Lowe's on contract from china, vietnam or taiwan

now SK are made in the usa and cheaper than snap-on but still expensive

craftsman and even mac are now junk

Raybestos was a brand I remember using.
Probably wasn't a good idea to blow the dust off when I did my brakes.

Anytime a storm comes the brakes are put on. The big monster wind turbines can withstand higher windspeeds. The medium to smaller wind turbines can not withstand the same speeds.

Either way, one cloud of asbestos settling on a crop of corn is more asbestos than I care to eat.

Environmental impact studies, obviously they were either not done or they were rubber stamped. Both is fact.

Don't care. I still have Craftsman tools my father bought in the 1960s when I was just a kid. My son will get them soon, what I already have not given him already, that is.

Their hand tools are made in the good old USA. Your information is in error. Most of their power tools are Chinese, but I have none of those. My miter saw is made in Taiwan.

You do realize that the dust is only produced when the brakes are used to slow the blades, right? If they are stopped or not applied, there is nothing to create the dust, thus no cloud. How many cornfields are there near wind turbines? Have you never heard of rain? Australia probably has neither.

Do you often eat the shucks from the corn?
