Yup. Burning American flags, even somebody else's American flag, is considered a mostly peaceful protest. Vandalizing works of art, statues, historical markers of 'sinners' from the past is no big deal and can even be a form of protected speech. But say something, do something, criticize something from a protected class who are numbered among the 'woke' and it is a 'hate crime' of such magnitude that it deserves the maximum penalty possible.
