I sometimes think Americans are too fascists with all due respect. I come from a country that is thousands of years old has a monarchy, but I was appalled at the amount of nationalism shoved down people's throats in the US....Holidays, National anthems during entertainments, flags everywhere, the pledge of legion in schools, armed forces commercials everywhere. It feels like the country is at war and being attacked from all sides. Too much and I love this country and its open minded people. But many led to beleive that outside the US the sun doesn't shine. Even the homeless veteran and non veteran carrying an American flag while been thrown to the street to fend for themselves by the same country that they sacrificed their lives for.

Many republicans seem to believe that merely teaching this country's *actual* history erodes patriotism.

So what are you suggesting we teach instead?

Their panty shitting hysterics regarding the 1619 project? The watered down version of history taught in textbooks approved by conservative states, where slaves were referred to as 'immigrants'?

Would republicans be opposed to high school aged kids doing a deep dive into the first hand accounts of actual former slaves? Or would that be 'propaganda'?

REPUBLICANS were the heroes of the anti-Slave movement and, as such, have no problem when looking at slave issues.

Getting first hand accounts of former slaves in the US would be tough, but if they want, they can talk to actual living slaves in North Africa, caused directly by the Obama/Biden Administration.
