Some random thought provoking questions. Are you happy with your life? What makes you happy? Is it money, family, material possessions? Experiences and travelling? What advice would you give someone who is unhappy but wants that to change. I wouldn't say I am "happy" but I am definitely more content and satisfied now than the past few years. My tips would be finding an enjoyable hobby, and learning to take risks and step outside of your comfort zone. Don't be afraid to fail and do things you want to without fear of being judged (not illegal or bad things obviously).

I am mostly happy about having a few close friends who I have known for over a decade, having a roof over my head, clothes, good and access to a gym where I can enjoy my hobby of lifting and interacting with fellow gym goers.

I'm happy that I've carried a concealed weapon for the last 14 year and haven't had to shoot anyone.

Pigging out on Rice a Roni or Kraft macaroni and cheese also makes me happy.

I'm a bit of a recluse that gets along with nature more than people.

That said , i do like playing out when the band i'm in makes folks dance

A room of euphoric energy is medicine for the soul.....

I have a great career, close friends and lots of interests. I'm engaged to a beautiful woman who also has a good career.

.

I'm happy to have recently learned that my state is open carry.

I'm happy that abortions are illegal in my state.

I'm happy that more and more people are starting to decide that eating poison is a bad idea.

Oh, boy, JGalt, I sure miss that Rice-A-Roni and Kraft Mac&Cheese!

It's nice to reach a situation in life where I have the resources to get or do pretty much anything I want, with no financial concerns.

That is not "happiness," but it would be difficult to be happy if I were struggling financially.

It would be nice to have more friends, but I find that much of what I do for enjoyment is necessarily solitary. I settle for having just a couple.

Happiness is for the free unfortunately. If you are genuinely.free, you should be happy.

Happiness is discovered when one is alone and independent. No need for others or social interaction. Once the independence is established. It's easy from there.

Part of the reason for social decay and the erosion of real adulthood is buying the stupid notion that the point of life is to drift around with some stupid grin on your face 24/7.

Happy enuf...but could be happier.

Happiness is an inside job. You can't buy it. Most people try to satisfy inner fulfillment by buying outer possessions. It doesn't work that way. All it is, is a distraction to your inner pain. Someone with real inner self-worth has it even if broke and stripped naked...and they don't need a zillion tats and a nose ring that makes them look like a barnyard animal to be whole.

One definition or formula for happiness is:

1) Something to do.

2) Something to look forward to.

3) Someone to love.

4) Someone to love you.

If you are a simpleton and don't require much, you can be happy with just looking towards the arrival of each season to fulfill "something to look forward to." You may look forward to a bike ride or a walk. Others may require more. We are all different in our requirements. But that's not the point. If you have no purpose to live and hate life, then not much for you to live for. Just don't get caught in escapism of always being occupied with the future. You can look forward to something, but still be mindful of the present...and enjoy life today, this very minute.

But ifvthats how one wants to live then it's not for me to judge. To each his own. Who cares in the end there's really no issue out there with regards to this.

Be comfortable who you are. Find something that makes you truly happy to do. For me it's music. For you it might be painting, gardening, volunteering....could be anything.

One of our founding documents cites, "the pursuit of happiness" as a fundamental right. I tend to agree with that. We are ENTITLED to be able to pursue happiness without the interference of an oppressive government. That presupposes that we do not seek happiness at the expense of others.

One of the biggest obstacles to my happiness is crappy weather. Does that make me shallow?
