Are We Imploding?

It's a simple question that deserves an answer. I look around my neighborhood and things are getting worse by the day. The police are useless and definitely not in the business of "protecting and serving" the community. The homeless problem has exploded. Then the virus hits and the Federal government completely abdicates it's responsibility and obligation to its citizens. 40 million Americans are now out of work. Families are trying to find ways to feed their children and keep a roof over their heads. Something has to give and it appears it is going to be our entire society and its ability to function. I'm going to turn 55 years old later this year. I've had a ringside seat to the destruction that hatred, mistrust, and unbridled capitalism has and continues to have on us as individuals and as a collective society. I'm afraid For the first time in my life, I'm truly, sincerely afraid. Fear is a dangerous thing. Living in fear isn't living. Donald Trump is everything that is wrong with this Country. He is a slow, insidious poison that is saturating the very heart of this Country. Now, he wants to pick a fight with China. How much more can our Country take?
Stop watching CNN and MSNBC propaganda and start using a little common sense.

Yes, NO.

Depends on where you are. There are left-wing cities that are imploding, from socialist policies, and ridiculous governments that promote looting and rioting, because they are left-wingers that suck at their jobs.

But as a whole? No. Most cities and towns, and rural areas, are just laughing and mocking the big cities with these ridiculous problems.

My relatives are all down in Southern Ohio, and they find everything that is going on, just hilarious. Because they haven't worn a mask yet, and they are out fishing and sitting by the pools and river, hanging out with beers.... nothing is falling apart for them. It's all the stupid city folk the can't stop crazy people from burning down the neighborhood. You'd get shot trying to do that down south.

And they are not all freaked out by people walking around without a mask. It's just silly.

Despite everything the democrats have thrown at Trump since 2016...and failed. Trump has done a lot for our country.
You won't here about from the msm, but it is there and I'm not going to list them for the liberals, we've got thread after thread on that.
The issue is that Trump isn't a politician, he's a businessman, and a businessman that isn't politically correct. I find that refreshing, I'm tired of getting stabbed in the back from a smiling soft spoken president.
He is as transparent as any president that I've seen in my lifetime. The biggest issue I have with him is that he closed down the economy over this virus.
That has been his biggest mistake. Although, China and WHO played a big part in that decision with the stonewalling of facts about the virus.
The end of the day, I trust capitalism over any other form of government in the world. I'm certainly not a globalist.

I trust our Constitution and I trust Trump

Well I don't, and I'll tell you why Trump cannot be trusted.

He lies, he is vindictive, he surrounds himself with Yes Men&Women and fires anyone who will tell him no.

He is not a critical thinker, he's lazy, he doesn't consider any consequences before he acts or speaks.

He is impulsive and has not ever admitted he was wrong or had made a mistake.

He lacks empathy. He's been divorced twice, and filed for bankruptcy half a dozen (?) times. No domestic bank will trust him with a loan, and to my knowledge he has never owned a dog.

He is a globalist, and seeks a world run by Plutocrats.

These are not his worst character flaws, he is also mentally and emotionally unfit to be President of the United States.
Thanks for your alternate opinion, Rye, but, I'll stick it out with Trump.

That's your right, and I would never deny you to cast your vote in anyway you will choose. That stated, I will endeavor to provide evidence why I believe Donald Trump is a great danger to our country and even the world.

I posted a thread on documentaries produced by PBS, one on water and one on energy:

Well worth watching. They are free on Amazon Prime. I watched all of them when they were first on our local PBS station. They are eye openers.

The USA is imploding from an absence of leadership.

Trump is a grifter and is self-serving while his family enriches themselves from government money while Trump is in office.

MAGA will not happen until Trump is expunged and prosecuted for his crimes.

Clearly another Trump Derangement Syndrome, Marxist fool.
Let's take a look at a nation that has your Socialist ideals. China: Tiananmen Square, thousands of students protest peacefully for...."freedom." Result: A massacre. Thousands murdered by Chinese government troops. Hong Kong, present day, a relatively autonomous capitalist region of China: Nearly 2 million citizens protest for...."freedom." Result: Water cannons, government goons beating protesters, citizens shot. In the end, the military sent in. Under Mao Zedong, an estimated 45 million citizens were starved, beaten and murdered...all to implement their brand of Marxist/Leninist Socialism.
Capitalism along with innovation is what made this nation the great nation it is.
The cotton gin.....US.
The mass production of the automobile....US.
The electric light bulb...US.
The movie industry....US.
The telephone....US.
The first refrigeration machine....US.
The bicycle....US.

The typewriter....US.

On and on it goes. The reason for the above: Seeing a need and knowing that innovation can make the inventors money. Capitalism.
As for Marxist/Leninist nations, they steal technology from the US, as their system of government doesn't foster innovation. Once they've stolen from us, they then adapt to their needs. Industries run by a large central government are cumbersome and fraught with flaws.
Trump got this nation up and running, with the lowest unemployment figures for minorities encountered. All he has been doing has been for this nation, not giving away our tax dollars to foreign governments to like us. But, taking care of the US, first.
What platform has he run on that has been so distasteful? He's for the US Constitution and its Bill of Rights.
As for the left, they've been keeping people basically on lockdown during this COVID-19 pandemic. All they had to do was insist on people just wearing masks and frequently washing their hands.
Them: Close all businesses. Losing your job and perhaps homes? So what! We're the left and you will obey. That's their idea.

Ever shop at Walmart? Apparently most of their stock comes from China.

Q. Are we imploding

A. Absolutely

Imagine the Kremlin right now, watching our cities burn, stuck in a Pandemic and seeing a lack of leadership from Washington. Imagine Putin holding up a MAGA Hat, toasting shots of vodka, and along with his comrades, laughing their asses off.

The democrat run states like Minnesota are imploding.
Just the Twin Cities.
99% of the rest of state is enjoying a nice peaceful night.

Just the Twin Cities? Wrong, Some of the protests have been peaceful, while others have been destructive. Here are the cities where protesters gathered:
Kentucky (Louisville),
California (Bakersfield, Sacramento, Oakland, San Jose, LA & SF),
Texas (Houston and Dallas),
DC,
Brooklyn,
Denver,
Detroit,
Atlanta,
New Orleans,
Ohio (Columbus, Cincinnati),
Indiana (Indianapolis, Fort Wayne),
Denver,
Boston,
Chicago,
Des Moines
. and Charlotte.

I have no love for China, North Korea, Russia, the Saudis or any of the like. Here's our problem......we spent the last 100 years trying to convince them to become more like us and we've become more like them instead. I find it sickening that the virus started in China and China is the only place to purchase the PPE we need, along with almost everything else in our homes. So, we will end up paying China hundreds of millions of dollars for masks, gloves, and gowns we needed because of a pandemic that started there.

I don't think Joe Biden is the answer. I know without a doubt Donald Trump isn't the answer. Both parties are corrupt to the core and owned lock, stock, and barrel by special interest groups and corporations. Donald Trump said he would drain the swamp and by God he did. What he didn't say was that he planned to refill the swamp with criminals, traitors, and just plain incompetent people who have no clue how government works let alone how to make it function.

Election reform is a good place to start. Limits on campaign spending. Term limits for ALL elected officials. Open and accessible elections.

Life in the time of the COVID-19 pandemic is like a daily game of Russian Roulette with a fully loaded gun. If that isn't enough reality, we have the idiot in chief saying maybe we should inject and/or ingest disinfectant, "it will be gone like a miracle in the Spring," and "the cure is worse than the disease." Won't be much of an economy if 25% of frontline workers die and another 10% are permanently disabled because of the virus. As with everything else in this Country, until you personally experience the awful garbage happening, it's far easier to look the other way. Apathy has served Americans well until now.

I live in Sacramento. We had a non-violent, yet still confrontational demonstration tonight that saw a good size crowd walk 1.3 miles to the doors of an area police substation. No fires, no broken windows, no looting, no violence. Plenty of loud chanting; exactly the spirit of Freedom of Speech and to Assemble. Contrast to Atlanta. People relentlessly taunting the police, throwing rocks and bottles at them, backing them into the CNN HQ building. Reality check! I don't care what color you are, where you live, or who you think you are, but a direct conflict with any law enforcement agency in this Country is suicide. Back them into a corner and threaten them, don't be surprised when they come out and exterminate the threat.

This country has been "imploding" for its whole history.

Of course, the worst example was the Civil War, in which at least 700,000 American boys were slaughtered.

Some people sincerely feel that the United States of America has a bright future.

In my opinion, the United States of America has a grim future and may actually cease to exist in its present form sometime in the next century.

It certainly will have been a self-inflicted wound, with the deck hands pointing the finger at each other as the boat sank.

That would probably be the funniest part of all, for those who want it to happen.
