I've finished watching the first season recently and was profoundly saddened to find out that the lead actor Andy Whitfield passed away.

It seems they found another actor to replace him, I hope he would stay true to the original portrayal of the character by Andy thus honoring his memory.

I don't feel that realism is a must for a show like this, I enjoyed HBO's Rome immensely, even thought the connection to reality is slim at best it still exists.
