There is a yin/yang to it all. No doubt some prices will be higher with tariffs but there are a good number of other things where the prices won't be going up and may, in fact, come down in a variety of ways, such as cheaper energy costs and less illegals forcing prices up. What a lot of people don't seem to understand is that Trump put tariffs on in his first term and, generally speaking, prices did NOT go up.

And Biden enjoyed the Tariffs so much he cranked them very high to China and kept permanent the earlier Trump tariffs. We never heard a peep against this from Democrats.

For energy, the US consumer. You imposed a 25% tariff on electricity. We will be charging an export tax. Say we sell power at $1/KWh. Ontario Hydro pays 25% export tax to the Ontario gov, so now sells it for $1.25/KWh. The US then imposes a 25% tariff on that, so the US power company now pays $1.5625/KWh. And that gets passed on to the consumer.
