Are Republicans Jealous of the Poor?

Why do they keep repeating that the poorest people dont pay income taxes?

Because they don't.--:cuckoo: The problem we have is that there are Americans that make 75K per year--and because they have 4 kids and a mortgage get out of paying a dime in federal income tax.

Now I really wouldn't consider someone making 75K per year POOR.

And this folks needed a thread... Because the answer otherwise can't be found by this OP.

Skills, ******* mad crazy skillz.

Formal fallacy.... precisely the meaning, in this case. Oh, and BTW, non sequitur is a term, not a word.

Now run along....

non se·qui·tur (nn skw-tr, -tr)
n.
1. An inference or conclusion that does not follow from the premises or evidence.
2. A statement that does not follow logically from what preceded it.

Thanks for lying and proving you cant use the google

because they don't ...end of topic...the simple truth will either stop a lying liberal in it's feminine tracks or send it into a frenzy of desperation spouting even more lies to back up it's lies!!:eusa_hand:

I didn't need Google to know that in formal logic, a non sequitur is a formal fallacy. Non sequiturs are not just literary devices.

Way to go there genius.

But here, I'll put it in terns you can understand...

Your premise is retarded.

repubs are always squawking about how the poor dont pay income taxes. They should try trading places with some of the poor.

Progressive tax rates are NOT an evil idea. There's a justification for them.

HOWEVER -- Excusing voters and workers from ANY obligation to pay for a belt-busting Fed Govt is a massive failure for a democratic republic. I don't care if it's as little as $20 a month.. There ought to be a MINIMUM tax on adjusted gross incomes -- even if it's a token amount.

And of course, NO one's Fed Tax ought to go negative as with the EITC.. All that amounts to is reducing the premiums for Soc Sec and Medicare (payroll taxes) which SHOULD be funded thru ALL current workers. After all -- those programs are NOT welfare -- they are for the UNIVERSAL benefit of ALL workers.

Why do they keep repeating that the poorest people dont pay income taxes?

They want to distract from the obvious need to repeal the tax cuts for the wealthy and to clean up the tax code to eliminate the loopholes for the wealthy and for corporations, its obfuscation at its best.

The GOP clearly favors the wealthy against the middle class and working poor and they continue to ask the poor to make up for the wealthyÂ’s windfall while continuing their push towards a Plutocracy.

If there was any confusion about where the GOP stood before, this should clear things up.

What???

71% of Americans are Republicans???

"71% Say Too Many People Get Welfare Who Shouldn't

Sunday, August 21, 2011

Americans overwhelmingly believe that the bigger problem with the welfare system in the United States is that there are too many overqualified recipients rather than not enough. Most also think legal immigrants should have to wait at least three years before being eligible for welfare benefits.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 71% of American Adults say the bigger problem with welfare programs in the United States is that too many people get welfare who should not be getting it."

repubs are always squawking about how the poor dont pay income taxes. They should try trading places with some of the poor.

Actually many of them are already there. They're just not smart enough to support positions that benefit them or the rest of the middle class. They think if they suck up to the rich, they too might one day become rich themselves.
