Are George Pickens and DK Metcalf two sides of the same coin?

Both are incredibly gifted receivers. Both are head cases that continue to confound their teams with bizarre antics and meltdowns in games when their teams need them the most. Dak is clearly pissed at Pickens for his inconsistency and the Steelers may use DK's latest kerfuffle to erase $55 million in contract guarantees. What is up with these guys? Maybe they should both go to the same therapist and get a 2 for 1 deal.

Wide receivers are the prima donnas of the NFL. Far too many of them have the maturity level of a 3rd grader. They've been pampered their whole lives because of their athletic skills. Some end up in prison during or after their careers.

WRs seem to have the most head cases of any position. To be fair most of them give their all every play and it is a very demanding, dangerous position to play. Pickens and Metcalf stand out to me because they are world class receivers, both built like Superman yet they continue to shoot themselves in the foot.

I'm a huge NFL fan but I get sick and tired of these children making stupid decisions.
Metcalf is a great example. Here the Steelers are on the verge of being a real contender for the first time in years and Metcalf punches a fan and get suspended. What an idiot. :icon_rolleyes:

When Pickens was still a Steeler, in one game, he used to be late for meetings, and once stopped playing on the field and just stood there sulking as the other team ran past him not even making an effort to tackle him because he wanted the ball more.

If anyone remembers Antonio Brown, when he played for the Steelers, one day, he was reportedly clocked driving at 105 mph in a 35 mph zone, and is now under investigation for murder.

Well, the good news is that the Steelers likely won't really need him anyway for the last two games. The Steelers can only hope when he does come back in the Playoffs, his focus is on the field this time.

What I wonder is how could Metcalf hear the expletives from the fan in the stands yet no one else on the team, the security, the police, the NFL, etc., didn't?

I think some of these guys are batshit crazy.

I think the whole NFL is batshit crazy. No player is worth 50 or 100 million dollars. The average person takes a lifetime to earn a million dollars. In almost every case, their performance never pans out well over the course of the term of their contract.

But the fans are to blame for still going to the live games, paying insane fees for tickets, food, parking and all. Especially considering how much better the view is at home on TV with instant replay and such.

I don't think so, Pickens has questionable effort on routes he is not getting the ball, but I don't remember him ever being vocal about it.

DK has had his meltdowns, but when a fan is screaming your name and talking shit to you, you are supposed to ignore this person. It's the same with police, you think you can get away with it until you are wearing handcuffs, or get a baton upside the head.

People are human.
