AOC endorses Islamist for mayor of NYC

I'm asking when and where have we tried Democratic Socialism? When have we taxed the rich according to their wealth? Jeff Bezos paid no taxes! Try to defend that all you want. People are fed up.

I agree that the rich should pay their fair share.
I also think the government should only perform essential functions. We should have the pursuit of happiness, not the government-mandated ration of happiness.

Zorhan becoming mayor is just going to make it easier for the GOP to paint the Democrats as being "out there."

You're just too stupid to understand the policies of the lslamist jew hater.

He has advocated for freezing rent costs for stabilized tenants, making city buses fare free, providing public child care for children under the age of six and creating city-owned grocery stores that buy and sell at wholesale prices. He has also argued for raising the minimum wage to $30 an hour by 2030.

All the usual socialist talking points. 'free stuff'. Government run grocery stores sounds like a real winner.
Sounds like good ideas to me.

You have no problem with "free stuff" for rich people -- like the billions of dollars in subsidies the Federal government gives to oil and gas companies every year. You are a dirt stupid sucker with a capital S.

I disagree. New Yorkers voted for him, not the Democratic Party. They want an affordable city. The state-run grocery stores will be a huge help. People don't want to be held hostage for their food. They get nickel and dimed daily on city services, especially mass transit. Bill de Blasio made some improvements, but Adams is a disaster, and NYC doesn't want another Republican executive like Bloomberg.

Mamdani will do great. That's what all the panic is about.

Read his platform.

How is this going to get paid for?

Anyone want to walk through the numbers of paying for all this free stuff?
Hey wingnut. Can I ask you a question? Why are you an imbecile? Were you dropped on your head as a baby? Is that why you vote Republican?

ITS ON THE HOME PAGE OF THE LINK YOU POSTED, moron.

They keep avoiding that question.

Weird, eh?
Keep reading, dope. 😂

Taxes on big corporations and the wealthiest New Yorkers

Zohran has a plan to bring down the cost-of-living through city-owned grocery stores, universal childcare, and other bold proposals, and he knows exactly how to pay for it, too. Zohran’s revenue plan will raise the corporate tax rate to match New Jersey’s 11.5%, bringing in $5 billion. And he will tax the wealthiest 1% of New Yorkers—those earning above $1 million annually—a flat 2% tax (right now city income tax rates are essentially the same whether you make $50,000 or $50 million). Zohran will also implement common-sense procurement reform, end senseless no-bid contracts, hire more tax auditors, and crack down on fine collection from corrupt landlords to raise an additional $1 billion.

Tax the rich they are going to ******* LEAVE.

They are not rich because they are stupid.

Try taxing the rich at 90%.

THEY

WILL

*******

LEAVE

City-owned grocery stores.

Food prices are out of control. Nearly 9 in 10 New Yorkers say the cost of groceries is rising faster than their income. Only the very wealthiest aren’t feeling squeezed at the register.

As Mayor, Zohran will create a network of city-owned grocery stores focused on keeping prices low, not making a profit. Without having to pay rent or property taxes, they will reduce overhead and pass on savings to shoppers. They will buy and sell at wholesale prices, centralize warehousing and distribution, and partner with local neighborhoods on products and sourcing. With New York City already spending millions of dollars to subsidize private grocery store operators (which are not even required to take SNAP/WIC!), we should redirect public money to a real “public option.”
