He just had Jack Layton on, Mr. Layton is the head of the New Democratic Party of Canada and he was brought on to dispel the "myths" about Canada's wait times and other "myths" that the mean Conservatives are saying about their fine system.
Well.......
He should have changed his own web site before him and Ed Schultz was stating what they were stating...:eusa_whistle:

"The people who have been running Ottawa have long promised to reduce the waiting times for health care.

They didn't.

And today, five million Canadians do not have a family doctor. One million patients are on waiting lists for care".

Of course he blames it on private health care clinics:cuckoo:

Ed was entertaining when the Hillary/Barry cage match was in full swing. After that, he just turned into another hack-in-the-box.

I lost what remaining shred of respect I had for him when he sold out and left Fargo.

I never watch him , I was just surfing channels and stopped on his show because he said he was going to have a Canadian leader on to dispel the rumors of their problems in their health system so when I googled the Party he was in and saw this, it tickled the hell out of me.

And the question is why does no Canadian politician run on a platform of removing UHC?

When companies make these profits during a recession something is wrong. But you anti UHC tools are all sharing in the profits so you're excused. LMAO

Corporations are married to government. Do you like HMO's and what they have done to our health system?

Don't blame conservatives for HMO's....

"We need legislation which reorganizes the system to guarantee a sufficient volume of high quality medical care, distributed equitably across the country and available at reasonable cost to every American. It is going to take a drastic overhaul of our entire way of doing business in the health-care field in order to solve the financing and organizational aspects of our health crisis. One aspect of that solution is the creation of comprehensive systems of health-care delivery"

That was Ted Kennedy in 1971 supporting the HMO Act and now one of the most cursed aspects of the system BY liberals is HMO's.

It really isn't the profits that are driving up healthcare costs. Profits from insurance are a very small percentage of total revenue. What is driving up the cost is everything between insurance and the actual care. Administrative costs on both side, the insurance companies and the providers, are much of the cause. And no, there isn't enough competetion.

The biggest problem with our system is that employers are involved in providing our benefits. If everyone had to purchase their own insurance rather than get it through their employers, you would see costs drop like a rock. You would have most people purchasing major medical only plans and paying out of pocket for their routine healthcare. They could set up tax credits for lower income earners to purchase insurance. The the only issue would be figuring out how to cover those with pre-existing conditions.

Same thing year. It's because we don't have enough primary care physicians because the reimbursement for the amount of crap we have to deal with (especially in dealing with the demands from multiple insurance companies) is not enticing for new medical school graduates.

What's Canada's excuse then, they don't have multiple insurance companies to deal with? I think people should get insurance completely out of primary care, even specialists, get it for catastrophic purposes only, you'd probably be happier too.
