Zone1 Anyone here try to access Login.gov?

Which one is that??? The SMS?? And how does it differ from all the other fricken codes required??

I've never done this one before and just trying to get an access account set up to take care of some business. A one time thing, then over & done. I do NOT want continued access.......the least amount of contact with government as possible

I might try again either later or tomorrow, just to see if it works.......then I'll go to plan B
I've been fighting the gov't websites ever since Cerner took over. They are ridiculous. I originally set up a MyHealtheVet acct. and everything worked fine. Then they messed with it and I finally got it straightened out. Then they said you could access all gov't sites including SS with Login.gov and ID.me so I set them both up with much frustration and a four hour OT call and telephone help. Next time I used them, they said they had to be reset up and I did everything you described---finally it is working---for now. I am not a fan of Cerner.

Did you request to send the final code by mail in the verification (that it's you & not someone else)??? I know they had given that as one of the options, but I went with getting the code thru text to my phone, and that's when they said the number didn't match their records.
I couldn't get the verification by phone, although I tried. As I remember, after that failed the only choice was to wait for the mailed letter. I also signed up for idme, and experienced the same thing.
Just FYI, I use idme to log in to social security and it's, it works better.

I did not see any phone help anywhere on the site or I would have called. I don't know who or what Cerner is. The owner of the sign on???

This is my first time trying to do this, and after going back to the page to try to delete my info to start all over from scratch......I can't do that either without getting past the verification page. So I did a search on how to do that and I see where you only need to chose ONE of several verification options. yet they seem to want all the options..........though that may be due to the dept I'm trying to get too.....not SSA. IDK, I'm going to wait until tomorrow or the next day to try it again. Just because somewhere mentioned it takes 24 hours for anything to go thru. :dunno:

I think the options are by phone, snail mail or to go to the post office for in person.

I am curious if Login.gov and idme are connected, since I did see something about having to wait the 24 hours before trying the other site or be locked out of that one as well. :dunno:

I honestly believe they are trying to discourage usage. It has been one of the most frustrating things I've encountered. There is a phone number, but as I recall, it was VERY DIFFICULT to find. BTW, Cerner is the software outfit that is responsible for all of this.

yep that's what I meant

I've also had similar type problems with the state's websites and signing on. I gave up there. If I need something, I'll be knocking on the door

I think they must be connected, or at least have an agreement to share information. At the risk of sounding paranoid, I am guessing they each have their headquarters in opposite wings of the same super-secret building.

I do not think it is deliberately programmed to be difficult, but I found it to be so (though now I just fly through it._

It's just poor programming. The LDS senior service missionary program years ago had a poor volunteer software program until I offered their chief desigern some ideas, and now it is OK.

Not everything is deliberately bad.

We humans can mess anything up without much difficulty.

LOL, if only. I spent four hours on the help line the first time I tried and we set up MyVA.gov, ID.me, and Login.gov. The only one that actually worked after the four hours was MyVA.gov. I suggested to the help desk person that I believed that the process was deliberately set up to discourage use and they agreed. I have my opinions on it, none of them provable so we'll just leave it there.

So you also had difficulty in the beginning.......I'm guessing the verification phase?

Yeah, that was not fun.

Some of the stuff in the last months has been difficult.

However, I got some excellent corrective actions by VA on a company (Loyal Health something?) that was tying up an appeal for a VA disability pension increase petition.

I talked to a rep. He threw out the first company in a day, put in for a new company to do the evaluation the next day, two days later I had a call from the new company, and an examination scheduled with a contractor the following week. The VA response to earlier contractor nonsense was amazing.

So we will see.
