Any there old folks here who still sleep in late, like I do?

Even though I'm well past 60 I like to stay up late usually between midnight and 1 am and then don't get up till 8 or 9. Is that weird or are there other senior night owls out there? Just curious.

It took me over ten years to kick the habit of waking up at five am.
I'm definitely making up for lost time these days. I can sleep till noon if I really try.

I waited till I was 64, but I didn't have much of a choice because COVID hit, and my wife started coming down with Dementia.

So I had to retire from working for the government. Somebody had to watch my wife. I should have retired 2 years earlier because the biggest stress was what was I going to find out that she had done every day I got home. She started getting in wrecks and kept forgetting what she did with her car keys. Important things started disappearing at home. She started hoarding stuff and hiding it everywhere.

I know how that goes.
It was my Mother though....
She claimed she got robbed at the grocery store to hide the fact she left her purse in the shopping cart.
It's hard to watch your Mother go through it I can only imagine how bad it would be with your Wife.

No depression. Retired and started living the absolute best time of my life. No work, no obligations. Nothing but free time to do whatever I wanted.
Yeah, sure. But I have to take care of an 84 year old who has the mind of a 7 year old with a worse memory, and she gets worse and worse by the day.
I can't go out on a boat and enjoy fishing because she can't swim.
Maybe we can go back to golfing. But half the time I just don't have the energy.
