Any Problem with This Particular Biden Lie? [abortion]

"President" Biden is flooding the airwaves with advertisements that openly and blatantly lie about the Trump/Republican position on abortion.

The claim is that (a) Trump and the Republicans want to make abortion illegal in the entire country, and (b) Biden will pass a law protecting abortion rights.

Both of these assertions is manifestly false.

The Dobbs decision makes it abundantly clear that abortion is not a matter for the Federal government, and ANY law on the subject, one way or another, would be unconstitutional. Accordingly, there is no Republican push to create or pass such a law, and President Trump has publicly stated that he and the Republicans are totally on board with the Dobbs decision: it's up to the States.

These are not my opinions. They are facts. Biden is lying, and there are scores of Democrat Congressional candidates who are pushing the same lies.

As always, Democrats depend on the stupidity of the voters.
Trump has called for a nationwide abortion ban
Many top Republicans in Congress have called for a nationwide ban
Several "Red" states have passed laws criminalizing abortion
Some of those same state have criminalized travel for the purpose of abortion

These are facts.
Your stuff? Nothing but a lie.

If the information is factual. It isn’t a lie.

Republicans do want a National Ban. Trump said he would sign it.

Its a lie by omission, because Settled Law in the Dobbs decision gives the regulation of abortion to the state governments- not the President nor the Congress.

Its just plain unconstitutional for Sleepy Joe to suggest otherwise.
Obviously since Dobbs, nothing is settled law.
Including Heller and Citizens.

Dems take 2more Senate seats in a Trump landslide defeat.
Expand the court to 13
Impeach and remove Clarence Thomas
Biden appoints 5 justices...

And 20 years of GOP lawfare is gone.

Of course this is not true. Trump is on record recently as saying it is a state by state issue rather than a federal one. No doubt there some repubs who would ban abortions nation-wide, but they ain't never going to get 6 votes to pass such legislation in the Senate. So there is zero danger of that happening this year or anytime soon.
Trump is also on record calling for a nationwide ban.

So which lie do you choose to believe?

Biden is NOT lying, Republicans are lying. What Republicans are telling the American people is just more lies. Don't believe what they say about abortion, watch what they DO.

Republicans in Arizona are shocked, shocked I tell you, that the 1860's ban has been upheld. But given the opportunity to repeal that law, in the state legislature twice since the 1860's law was reinstated, and on both occasions, Republicans voted to KEEP the ban.

The Texas law purports to allow for exceptions to the heartbeat ban, but when a woman went to court to get an exception for her ectopic pregnancy, which is not a viable pregnancy and always ends in the death of the fetus, and is always life threatening to the mother, the judge refused to grant the abortion because the mother's life wasn't in danger right this second.

Republican Senators in Washington, refused to pass a law protecting IVF which Republicans also claim to be in favour of.

No matter what Republicans are saying, what they are doing is killing women.
Why is Biden lying about Trump? If he is such a good president, why doesn't he run on his record?

Not all States fall within your broad brush assertion. Different States have different standards, even republican controlled States. Personally I oppose all convenience abortions, it's basically telling women they have no responsibility for their actions. The life of a child is worth much more than letting them off the hook.

.
Convenience abortions are always the first that come to mind, and probably the only thing worth controlling at all. The rest is the misery and anguish of losing a child, and/or possibly a wife or daughter, or the ability to have future children, or being forced to carry the child of a violent rapist to term for the state, as they have made law, saying it is always wrong and only lawful.

True, it does vary from state to state. Some citizens banded together sooner, protecting the rights of women and girls before Draconian laws could be put in place. Others have already seen the horrible treatment of women or little girls in trouble, forced to flee the state due to legislation quickly put in place, knowing or finding out, this was an issue, not to be trusted to a state and supposed moral superiority of the politically powerful if uninformed legislators, based solely on their religious convictions, without regard to medical necessities or the individual circumstances of the pregnancy, the mother, that age of the female patient, indeed as young as 10 years old. It is a decision, beyond their collective legislative understanding and ability to find a hard and fast rule, one size fitting all.

Now we are in an election year, these same self-righteous legislators, rulers, deciders of the common good face the people and the ballot box, whether they wish the people to have that choice to extend this kind of inflexible legislative control over the lives and healthcare women and girls of the states or not. Who actually trusts legislators, elected by big money in a popularity contest to make these kinds of wholesale decisions over the lives of so many?

A woman shouldn't have to spend hundreds, perhaps thousands of dollars, traveling to another state to end her pregnancy with a doctor. When she loses her job are you going to support her? She's being forced to carry an embryo or under-developed fetus to term because a bunch of hypocrite-holy rollers supposedly have the right to nullify her sovereignty over her body (her reproductive system, her uterus). Your opinion that an embryo is a human person, is just that, an opinion. A woman should have the right to end her pregnancy for any reason, early in gestation.

Only a fool would reduce a human being and person to an embryo or undeveloped fetus. Embryos and undeveloped fetuses are potential human persons, not actual ones. Being a potential is not "actual". Tadpole isn't a frog. It's a potential frog, but it's not an actual one. A baby that is alive, breathing, feeling, thinking, isn't a teenager. If that baby dies, it wasn't a teenager who died, it was a newborn infant who died. A "potential" and an "actual" are not the same. A potential human being and person, is not an actual human being and person.

In the equation of a woman's pregnancy, early in gestation, it's the woman who is the human being and person, not the embryo in her uterus (in her body). Her will should take precedence over the embryo's potential, or that of an undeveloped fetus without a brain or with half a brain.

Consider, that the same people using the heavy hand of the government to force women to remain pregnant for nine months are the same people who were complaining about the government mandating masks in public crowded venues, in the middle of a nationwide, deadly pandemic. They argued that the government has no right to force anyone to wear a mask on their face (body), but somehow these same right-wing conservatives have the right to force a woman to keep an embryo or undeveloped fetus in her uterus, even early in her pregnancy. According to these self-righteous champions of fetuses (in other people's wombs), a woman must remain pregnant for nine months, incurring all of the risks and expenses that come with it.

The Federal Government should ensure every American woman's right to end her pregnancy within a certain reasonable time frame. It's up to medical professionals working with lawmakers to define what a "reasonable time frame" is.

yea yea democrats are just so wonderful....they think one size fits all too....their size...
Don't worry about he desires of the minority Democrats or the minority Republicans. You had best be vying for the approval of the Independents, the voting demographic that is far larger than either of the two parties, and far more truly conservative in nature than the two polar radical parties.

Many independents are Libertarians, not conservatives in the right-wing traditional sense of the word. I'm an independent.

An embryo and a fetus are fully human beings in a stage of development toward maturity. They are not a separate species. You can agree that they should be killed but the ability to make that decision does not make an embryo or a fetus any less human.
An embryo being human doesn't make it a human person or human being. It's a potential human person, not an actual one. It's the pregnant woman who is the human being and person, and she should have the sovereignty to decide whether she's going to carry what is in her womb to term or not, especially early in pregnancy.

No. It's an actual human being in a stage of development. DNA tests confirm humanity, blood tests confirm humanity. It is a human being developing maturity. It is a potential, mature adult the same way a toddler isn't a mature adult. An embryo is a human being because it isn't anything else. There is no separate species for the unborn.

Now go ahead and argue that there is a right to kill it if necessary or convenient. The entire argument the an embryo or fetus isn't human is avoiding the ugliness of killing another person. "I wouldn't hurt anyone. I certainly wouldn't kill a person, a human being". So, this fiction was created that the unborn aren't really human so it's okay. Get over it. Let the fiction go. it's your body. You really don't need fictionalized justification. Kill your unborn son or daughter and be relieved of the burden.

No, it's a human embryo, not a human being or person. Only an irrational right-wing conservative will reduce an actual human being and person to an embryo or under-developed fetus without a brain or with half a brain. Potentials aren't actuals. You're conflating the two.

most independents say they are independent, than vote for one of the parties.....not very independent is it?....

Ohhh so now you're parsing words. It's a human embryo, not a human being. Do you have any idea how ridiculous that it? It is a human being of the species homo sapian sapian. It is alive. It requires nutrients to survive and excretes waste. It moves. It has a heartbeat. Why are you so afraid to just own your opinion that underdevelopment and immaturity is justification for ending that life?
