any decent microwaves anymore?

Most of the big box stores have their own model numbers unique to them. They do that so they don't have to price match.
Perhaps now maybe, but I'm not so sure about the past. It takes an awful lot of buying power to cajole a maker into making a special model just for you. Further, when I shop, I start with the model I want from the manufacturer's catalog, then shop for that model and compare prices on that model.

And when it comes to TVs I've had really good luck with Visio, I have a 21", 32", 50' and a 65", I have nothing bad to say about them. My oldest Panasonic microwave is about 10 years and the newest is about 5 years old, they work as advertised every time.
Never owned anything made by Visio. I'm generally a Sony, Panasonic, Pioneer, Hitachi, Mitsubishi kind of guy. I lean towards the professional brands, lines and models and not so much the consumer lines.

Is someone already recommended panasonic

They make really good microwaves
They might but nobody sells them? not sure amazon would ship a 65 pound box.
that said, I've had many panasonic items over the years and they are good

The eneloop batteries are the best you can get, formally sanyo who no idea sold it but still made in japan

I have some original white around 20 years old still charging to full capacity, I have newer eneloop pro

sadly the contractor who fixed up my vintage house before I moved in made a somewhat custom place for the microwave between two places for dishes and another on top, my model that burned out no longer exists.

Now I need to measure, it was a 1.6 cu and they have 1.8 but that does not mean they will fit

then you have the bracket unique to each maker and the mounting on top.

basically I might need to drill more holes.......don't want to but if it that is what it takes?

More often than not, the people compiling those lists are reviewing products provided free to them for review.

If they give a bad review, they will never get free stuff from that vendor again,
Your momma said what? Yeah, often seems they spend more time advertising the brands than testing the products. Not Consumer Reports though. They still have paid subscribers, test everything without bias, and the manufacturers send samples or risk going out of business.
