Please explain why Jesus prayed for the KINGDOM OF GOD to come, if the Kingdom was already there while Jesus was alive? "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven." -- Matthew 6:7-16). Jesus was preparing the people for the New Testament Covenant...aka, the Kingdom of God, the kingdom of the Son. It had not yet come into effect.
The Law and Prophets was fulfilled via the sacrifice of Jesus Christ..........the Law was fulfilled when Jesus declared, "IT IS FINISHED" -- John 19:30 Jesus clearly stated that He came to FULFILL THE LAW not destroy it (Matthew 5:17-18)
Question........why was Jesus Born of woman, born UNDER THE LAW (Gal. 4:4)....and practiced the LAW and the PROPHETS without sinning once before His sacrifice.....if the N.T. was in effect while Jesus was alive? Why was one of Jesus' last acts on earth in celebration of the Passover Feast (practiced by those still under the law) -- Matthew 26:17.....and why did all of his disciples still practice the LAW by preparing for the Passover Sabbath (Holiday)....Feast if the N.T. law...ie. the Kingdom ofGod was in effect.......and if Jesus practiced it..........as an example of the Kingdom of God........why do you not practice it today?

Truth: Jesus was born a Jew, lived as a Jew under the Law of Moses......and died as a practicing Jew, and He sinned not. (Hebrews 4:15)
If the Sacrifice of Jesus had nothing to do with the forgiveness of sin or the kingdom of God.....why did John the Baptist declare, "Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world ....." -- John 1:29 Under the old law...i.e, the Law and the Prophets...aka the Mosaic Covenant..........it was demanded that a blood sacrifice be offered to the Royal Priesthood of the Levite tribe in order to carry sin over from one season to the next......without sacrifice there is no forgiveness of sin, no tranfer into the kingdom of the Son (Col. 1:13) Jesus had to be sacrificed to take the sin of the world upon Himself (1 Peter 2:24, 2 Cor. 5:21).....Jesus became Sin for all the nations on earth.
As the Apostle clearly states with no ambiguity whatsoever, The can be no new covenant as long as the Old Covenant is still in place.......it would be like committing a type of adultery if you attempt to worship under 2 covenant.......one cannot take effect unless there is a death then one is free from the first marriage...i.e, covenant. (Eph. 2:15), and if you attempt to justify yourself under any single precept of the Law and Prophets............you have fallen from GRACE. You make the sacrifice of Jesus Christ of no effect (Gal. 5:4)
More? Name one soul that was saved and transfered into the kingdom of God before the death of Jesus...i.e, the church given to Jesus by the Father (Matthew 16, 28:18-19).....also known as the kingdom of His (God's) beloved Son, -- Col. 1:13
The thief on the cross? God incarnate forgive the thief..........personally, just as God personally saved the few in the O.T. while the Law was still in effect. Thus, unless you have Jesus leave His throne in heaven as both Lord and Christ at the right hand of the Father and personally forgive you..............(Acts 2:36) there is only one method to be transffered into the kingdom of God. Be Baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost (Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 2)
