Everywhere, simultaneously.
Marilyn Manson's Anti-Christ Superstar w/ comments on album lyrics, the videos, and interviews and writings of Brian Warner.

The worm introduces himself, tell's us who/what he is.

Irresponsible Hate Anthem
I am so all-american, I'll sell you suicide
I am totalitarian, I've got abortions in my eyes
I hate the hater, I'd rape the raper
I am the animal who will not be himself

He is American society taken to the extreme. The all-violent, all-sexual, uninhibited monster that the decadence of American culture has unavoidably created from itself.

Well, why is he important? How did he get important?

Society made him important because society worships and adulates it own decadence and sinfulness. An adulation he, in character, mocks.

The Beautiful People

I don't want you and I don't need you
Don't bother to resist, I'll beat you
It's not your fault that you're always wrong
The weak ones are there to justify the strong

The beautiful people, the beautiful people
It's all relative to the size of your steeple
You can't see the forest for the trees
You can't smell your own shit on your knees

There's no time to discriminate,
Hate every motherfucker
That's in your way

The video shows Manson as a larger than life superstar haranguing an audience of adoring fans.

Why is society this way?

Capitalism has made it this way,
Old-fashioned fascism will take it away

Materialism is the root of all evil, and an evil society is a weak society and will eventually fall to totalitarianism.

More on capitalism, and some self-reflection...

Dried Up, Tied And Dead To The World

You cut off all of your fingers
Trade them in for dollar bills
(he has sold out to materialism)
Cake on some more make-up to
Cover all those lines
Wake up and stop shaking
Cuz you're just wasting time (though he says 'you', he is refering to himself)

Don't you want some of this?
Don't you need some of this?

You take but cannot be given
You ride but cannot be ridden
Pinch this tiny heart of mine
Wrap it up in soiled twine
You never read what you've written (he's a hypocrite)

I'll be your lover, i'll be forever ("I'll Be Forever", a direct contradiction to lines from My Monkey, where he says "I can't be forever", why can he now be forever...?)
I'll be tomorrow, i am anything when i'm high (....drugs)

The next song was written about a dream he had (real life) where he made a woman out of manequin parts, his baby teeth from childhood, his fingernails, and his hair.

It details his domineering and lascivious sexual nature.

Tourniquet

she's made of hair and bone and little teeth
and things I cannot speak
she comes on like a crippled plaything
spine is just a string
I wrapped our love in all this foil
silver-tight like spider legs
I never wanted it to ever spoil
but flies will always lay their eggs
Take your hatred out on me
make your victim my head
you never ever believed in me
I am your tourniquet
prosthetic synthesis with butterfly
sealed up with virgin stitch
if it hurts, baby please tell me
preserve the innocence
I never wanted it to end like this
but flies will lay their eggs
(flies will lay their eggs, he can not but help be what he is)

More opinion later...

Really not much to the next song. Mostly just an annoucement (and warning) of his rise...

Little Horn (a euphemism for his dick)

The world spreads its legs for another star
World shows its face for another scar

Everyone will suffer now...

You can't save yourself...

Next, is one of the more cryptic songs...

Cryptorchild

Each time i make my mother cry an
angel dies and falls from heaven
when the boy is still a worm it's hard to
learn the number seven
but when they get to you
it's the first thing that they do
each time I look outside
my mother dies, I feel my back is changing shape
when the worm consumes the boy it's never
considered rape
when they get to you
Prick your finger it is done...
the moon has now eclipsed the sun...
the angel has spread its wings...
the time has come for bitter things...

Basically, what I read from this is that the guilt imposed upon him from his mother, for every little thing he ever did, contributed greatly to creating the dysfunctional person he would become (or maybe I've just listened to Pink Floyd's The Wall too many times)

Isn't this that song that told those kids to shoot up their school?

I've never listened to it because I'm afraid of what it might tell me to shoot up.

I think that was "Lunchbox" or something like that. Either way, yeah, it's terrible how that song puts a gun in people's hands and forces them to shoot people.

The sad thing is so many people actually think songs, movies, etc. need to be banned because of what one or two nuts thing they are saying.

Zhukov, are these writings yours or did you get these from another site? I know mansonusa.com used to have some really well thought-out interpretations.
