Just a regular American
Another Winter Day
As I awaken to another day,
and gaze out the window,
I realize another cold and dreary day,
awaits me outside this warm abode of mine.
Will it never end?
Snow falling every other day or so,
freezing cold keeping its grip on the land,
day after day after day.
‘Tis the spring I long for,
the warming rays of the sun,
a colorful landscape coming to life,
the sounds of animals all around us.
Alas, I must endure another month,
of white and brown and cold,
to hunker down under my sheets
and dream of a time to come.
