You have freedom of speech. You're not free from the ramifications of said speech though. From what I've read here (I haven't been following it very closely--didn't really know who Kirk was or cared TBH), the firings and repromands (sp?) are pretty much in line. I remember Whoopi Goldberg was dumped by Weight Watchers after saying something idiotic about W. Their sandbox, their sand.

And freedom of speech does mean you should be free from consequence, otherwise its not free. As ive stated before, freedom of speech means you should be able to say the most vile of things, even those who say these things about kirk. Thats just how freedom of speech works. If there are consequences attached to it, then we dont have freedom of speech.

Its sad, im a defender of free speech, so its sad to see these people realizing the consequences of their own beliefs. This was a big topic not too long ago when the left were cheering that woman who got fired because of a racist note she wrote.
