Alleged killer in Portlandâs Normandale Park protest shooting identified

The man suspected of shooting and killing a racial justice demonstrator Saturday night has been identified as Benjamin Jeffrey Smith, 43, of Northeast Portland.

"The man suspected of shooting and killing a racial justice demonstrator Saturday night has been identified as Benjamin Jeffrey Smith, 43, of Northeast Portland. Smith’s identity was first reported by the Oregonian. Demonstrators said on the night the shooting happened; Smith allegedly started yelling at a group of protesters holding a “justice for Amir Locke” demonstration at Normandale Park. Witnesses to the Saturday shooting said people attempted to deescalate the situation when Smith pulled out a handgun and fired into the crowd, killing June Knightly, 60, and injuring four others. Witnesses said a protester returned fire, hitting Smith, who is in critical condition.

Late Monday night, Portland police officers returned to the apartment with a search warrant looking for guns and computers, Smith’s roommate, Kristine Christenson told OPB. “He talked about wanting to go shoot commies and antifa all the friggin time,” Christenson said. “He was just a sad angry dude…he talked about wanting to do this for a while. He was angry at the mask mandates, he was angry at the damned liberals.” In a press release Sunday afternoon, the Portland Police Bureau described the incident as very complicated and said “investigators are trying to put this puzzle together without having all the pieces.”

Seems in general, this guy was a pretty easy going guy and just wanted to shoot commies and libs like any God-fearing real American. He was a furry who went by the name "Polybun" -- but let's not hold that against him...What needs to be talked about is...why were these protesters armed? Why did the cops allow armed protesters to roam the streets and threaten and in this case, shoot at innocent God-fearing real Americans?? The woman who was shot was a self-identified member of BLM...a devout racist.....why is she being treated like a victim??



She is the face of true Marxist terror and evil...she caused her death, she was not the victim. If this guy felt the need to shoot at her and her racist gang in order to protect his city, his state, his country -- he is within his rights to do so...why were these people allowed to shoot back at him?? Why isn't the shooter being charged??

As I do agree with the last two paragraphs...............
I don't see what harm a protest is, if they aren't threatening people, burning, looting, or harassing, if they are on publicly open grounds and not blocking road or foot traffic.

As for that article about the woman that got killed..............I severely doubt a racist, hypocritical liberal can be kind and generous.....unless it's to coerce or trick someone into doing something for them.
