the principles go back to ancient times.
With or without the UN, they would exist,
To aris2chat: The UN —— AN ORGANIZATION —— has DI authority the ancients never conceived. Even the UN in 1945 never envisioned this:
Clinton control explains why the DoJ, and FBI directors like James Comey, will never indict a well-connected Democrat, and, by extension, never investigate anything that might uncover treason committed for the United Nations. Indeed, both agencies rolled over faster than two dollar whores when Taqiyya the Liar gave INTERPOL diplomatic immunity over American law enforcement.
The White House released an Executive Order "Amending Executive Order 12425."

It grants INTERPOL (International Criminal Police Organization) a new level of full diplomatic immunity afforded to foreign embassies and select other "International Organizations" as set forth in the United States International Organizations Immunities Act of 1945.
By removing language from President Reagan's 1983 Executive Order 12425, this international law enforcement body now operates—now operates—on American soil, its officers and property beyond the reach of our own top law enforcement arm, the FBI, and is immune from Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. . . this immunity and protection—and elevation above the US Constitution—afforded INTERPOL is likely a precursor to the White House subjecting the United States under the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court (ICC). INTERPOL provides a significant enforcement function for the ICC, just as our FBI provides a significant function for our Department of Justice. . . Two critical matters are at play. One is an overall matter of sovereignty and the concept of the primacy of American laws above those of the rest of the world. But more recently a more overriding concern principally has been the potential—if not likely—specter of subjecting our Armed Forces to a hostile international body seeking war crimes prosecutions during the execution of an unpopular war. . .

In light of what we know and can observe, it is our logical conclusion that President Obama's Executive Order amending President Ronald Reagans' 1983 EO 12425 and placing INTERPOL above the United States Constitution and beyond the legal reach of our own top law enforcement is a precursor to more damaging moves.
A Cabal Of National Embarrassment
Or this:
And this diplomatic passport (diplomatic immunity) took the prize:
Dominique Strauss-Kahn’s world came tumbling down when he made the move on a hotel maid in NYC. S-K’s biggest mistake was not putting his wife in charge of bimbo eruptions.
The story was delicious because Strauss-Kahn was the head of the IMF —— a specialized United Nations agency. He was also a Socialist who was in line to become France’s president.
Laissez-passer was the part that fascinated me about S-K’s legal problems in NYC when he surrendered his passport. Concerned New Yorkers felt better when he gave it up no matter what it is. Eventually, I learned that laissez-passer is French doublespeak for diplomatic passport? To be precise, a laissez-passer is an alternative travel document issued by the United Nations. I remember asking “Where do I get one?”
The more I learned the more I smelled a rat because a laissez-passer can be issued by an organization —— any organization. To make Strauss-Kahn give it up along with his passport gave laissez-passers a legitimacy they are not entitled to. Logically, the judge should have made Strauss-Kahn surrender his library card, too.
Just how much weight a government gives to a laissez-passer is another matter entirely. Adolf Eichmann escaped from Nazi Germany on a travel document issued by the International Red Cross. Argentina had no obligation to accept it but it did. Presumably, a little money changed hands.
The good Lord only knows how many corporate CEOs have one in their back pockets; nevertheless, who do you think has access to laissez-passers? The answer is big shots whether they be CEOs, or government officials fleeing from a failed government like Adolf Eichmann, or well-connected criminals. In short: They are nothing more than an escape hatch for the worst people in every country. Put it this way, every law-abiding American can get a passport, but how many Americans can get a “travel document” from the United Nations?
Question: How many Muslim terrorists have laissez-passers issued by the United Nations?
Parenthetically, the NY judge who lifted Strauss-Kahn’s laissez-passer made a big mistake. Had S-K been allowed to keep his laissez-passer he might have used it to jump bail. Jumping bail on a laissez-passer would have showed Americans exactly why those things should not be recognized as legal travel documents, at least not in this country.
After S-K returned to France he was accused of rape by French writer Tristane Banon. I do not recall how that turned out, but S-K’s publicity made Bill Clinton squirm because it reminded Americans of Juanita Broaddrick:
A little Clinton humor did surface in 2012 when Strauss-Kahn was first arrested for sleeping with working girls. S-K denied knowing that the women he slept with were prostitutes. His defense was that he did not know he was sleeping with prostitutes because the women were all naked at the time.
Not even Bill Clinton’s “IS” could top that story.
