Will bucs90 now start a godfundme page for him?

The human stain in Ohio—one of them, at least—that mocked the suicide of a Black Lives Matter activist last month was fired this week. Former Fairborn police officer Lee Cyr commented on the Ohio Politics Facebook page, “Love a happy ending,” regarding the story of MarShawn McCarrel II, who committed suicide on the steps of Ohio’s statehouse in Columbus on February 8. Cyr made his comment about two days after McCarrel’s death and had been on administrative leave since the post came to light.

To be fair, if you put it on FB you're posting in the public realm.

Warning to everyone, your boss looks at that shit, JS.

I can't blame them for firing him. To me, putting such a label on suicide is about as low as a person can get.

God bless you always!!!

Let's just fire and remove all police presence.
We'll start in your neighborhood.

Law Cyr works for the government. The government can't suppress free speech.

The government hasn't "suppressed" any "free speech". So no problem.

This officer works for a private company?

No, he worked for a local police department. Past tense.

His "free speech" hasn't been "suppressed", though. No one has stopped him from posting whatever he likes on Facebook.

"Free speech" doesn't mean "free from consequences".

The old version is: "If you say nothing people may think you are dumb. If you speak you may remove any doubt".

Lesson to be learned: Don't post on Facebook. If you do, don't support Bernie Sanders, because if that old piece of crap had its way, there would be no Facebook, no E-bay, no Amazon, no Google, no Apple, no Microsoft, no Ford, no Chrysler, no General Electric, no New York Giants, no Hollywood, no Las Vegas, no American Airlines, no Metropolitan Opera and no Barnes&Noble.

I realize the last two on my list goes way over the head of an average American, but the bottom line is, if Sanders is President all those privately run companies we enjoy and take for granted will be run into the ground by government mismanagement.

That goes in all realms.

It's not really about PC guys, it's about limited liability. If an officer says /anything/ that can be construed in a negative light in private, it can and will be used against the state as leverage for money if anything happens down the road. This officer's commentary has put bias into the public eye and therefore blinded them to any truth he might state in the future. The state is not willing to risk it, and considering it's ultimately our money that would have to pay for the case, we shouldn't be willing to either. In addition to the liability situation, he also broke the media policies. I'm willing to bet that /this/ is why he was "officially" fired.

If you want to mouth off about non-PC stuff, create an alias FB account - and frankly you should be doing that anyway, there is zero reason to have your real name on your FB account unless you are operating a business. Use an alias, a separate email address, and you can say anything you want. Thing is, the company that pays your paycheck wants no association with your personal opinions, which is why they check shit like FB and fire folks over "offensive" statement.

What has Sanders said (or done) to convey the above impression to you? I am genuinely curious.

I believe Sanders is opposed to abuse of corporate influence, which does not mean he is generally opposed to the existence of corporations, or Hollywood, or the Metropolitan Opera, etc.?

Please explain your comment.

Socialists hate private property. Give a socialist enough power and he will seize and nationalize. And then run it in the ground.

Since you are referring to improbable extremes let me say if capitalists are given enough power the working class can look forward to the kind of poverty wages which were standard before FDR's New Deal and the Union Movement which achieved the living wage standard and gave rise to the American Middle Class.

So let's not resort to extreme and improbable prospects. It's not productive.
