And this is an ally? Germany rejects US call to join Gulf taskforce

Sounds like Germany is a Islamic terrorist states ally!

Germany has rejected US pressure to send warships to protect shipping in the Persian Gulf from seizure by Iran.

Olaf Scholz, the German vice-chancellor, publicly confirmed on Wednesday that his country would not take part in a US-led naval taskforce.

“We want to talk about how to address the situation with our French and British partners in Europe, but there is no discussion of a mission as requested,” said Mr Scholz, who is deputising for Angela Merkel while she is on holiday.

Germany reportedly rejected calls to take part in the planned taskforce last week, but this is the first time the German government has commented publicly .

Along with Britain and France, Germany has been keen to rescue the nuclear deal agreed with Iran by Barack Obama, which Mr Trump withdrew from last year.

You mean Germany isn't going to kiss Trump ass, at their expense over a contract he violated?

Imagine that.

I'm sure they will do just fine waiting for the next Democratic President to fully adhere to the contract, and tell Trump, Netanyahu, and Bin Salmon, to kiss their ass, along with the other signers of the contract.

What contract?...

Joint Comprehensive Plan Of Action

The JCPOA, which was signed in July 2015 and went into effect the following January, imposes restrictions on Iran’s civilian nuclear enrichment program. China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, and United States—the five permanent members of the UN Security Council—negotiated the agreement alongside Germany; together they were known as the P5+1, over nearly two years of negotiations.

This is great. I had been hoping to see this happen. Other countries turning it's back on our never ending war mongering.

This is what happens when the US starts treating our allies like deadbeats and pulls out of agreements.
They will go their own way. Who can blame them?
To consider an occupied nation an ally is the height of naievety.

You mean since GERMANY for over 50 years REFUSED to pay what it owed to NATO and having AMERICA protect them WITHOUT COMPENSATION with all those military bases in Germany we are the BAD GUYS....YES, you are truly BRAIN DEAD!
Fine--if that is the approach you want to take with our allies, go for it. You will receive Germany's reaction as a result.
Simple. You choose.
And WE need Germany who is effectively an TERRORIST ISLAMIC STATE... ever READ what the fucking muslims are doing to the German people...of course not, that doesn't fit your agenda
The fucked up thing is that the Germans let them.

You have to take anything signed by the menace with extreme skepticism. Looking back on those years it's pretty clear that Obama was an imbecile or he was an anti American, evil man. I'd rather think of him as a dope. Viva Trump.

One of our biggest military hospitals in Europe is in Germany. I doubt if we want to give up our strategic positioning there, just to be more pissy than we already have been.

Yeah, having an unsinkable aircraft carrier right in the heart of Europe, housed in bases for which Germany pays, to project force throughout Europe and into the Middle East ... the Joint Chiefs would line up to slap Trump over the head if the dunce seriously went about giving that up.

Their money to start with. Over a squabble about them wanting us to quit trying to overthrow their chosen governments.

But you know that but it didn't stop you.

You asked me a question. I answered it. Where is the problem?
Guilty conscience over your b.s.? Which war are we stoking up now?
Are you satisfied if Iran controls the Straits of Hormuz? Or do you think it's better that Germany, the US and other nations try to proactively put Iran back in their box?
It's not the US who depends on that oil.

Yes, words have meanings. Like the words in the contract with Iran that Trump broke.

There was no issue in the Straights until Trump decided to stir it up.
