hmmmmm, well maybe if the Military kept track of the deaths they have caused, we WOULDN'T have this problem that you claim we have....?

Why doesn't the military keep track of those that they have killed? Are the lives of Afghans and Iraqis for that matter so worthless that they are not worth noting?

The sad fact is that in drawing down forces in Afghanistan for the invasion of Iraq, the Bush administration left the job undone in that benighted country, and let Taliban and al Qaeda forces slip into Pakistan where they are staging their resurgence in Afghanistan. As a result, rather than a nascent democracy capable of defending itself, we have a loose confederation of war-lords and drug-lords running thos parts of the country not controlled by the Taliban. Shari'a law, rather than civil law, is the law of the land. Hamid Karzhai, Afghanistan's president, is little more than the mayor of Kabul.

As for the terrorists and insurgents, lacking the resources for open conflict, they rely on the civilian population both for support and a shield. This civilian co-operation may be voluntary or not, and as a result there will be civilian deaths as it can be difficult, if not impossible, to distinguish friend from foe in a firefight. The fault lies not with the troops on the ground. It lies foursquare upon the door-step of the Bush administration for failing to secure Afghanistan, for allowing Taliban and al Qaeda forces to slip away in the night like the murderers assassins they are...All because Bush wanted to work out his chubby for Saddam. Look to Washington and this administration for those who have aided and abetted our enemies.

The us Military SHOULD keep track of who they kill, to the best of their ability.... I don't think this will hurt our cause, but will help our cause.

And keeping track of all those killed by terrorists should be kept by the military also, imo....both are necessary to know.
