Why did Obama put off the employer mandate?

What is going to happen when the employer mandate kicks in?

What will the left's talking points be if millions more lose their insurance ... or jobs ... due to the employer mandate?

When the job and hour losses started racking up this past year before the employer mandate was put off, my most vocal liberal friend sounded kind of like you just did -- putting the blame on greedy employers for making what to them were sound business decisions. How could the president foresee that they would do that, she said.

Democrats -- like the rest of us -- have for decades seen employers capping employee hours at 39 to keep them from getting benefits. It was easily predictable that if employers were told they had to start giving employees benefits when they worked for 30 hours, then employers would start holding hours down to 29. It just doesn't cut it to blame the greed of employers instead of blaming Democrats who enacted the law in spite of the predictable results.

They had to switch plans.......much like millions of Americans have had to do year in and year out for decades. Get off the high horse and join us here in reality.

The delay in the mandate was PROCEDURAL. It was done to insure that the infrastructure was in place. The mandate only concerns those businesses that employ more than 50 persons......the OVERWHELMING majority of which already offer the benefit. You knew that, right?
