Amid abortion battle, DeSantis vetoes birth-control funding – again

Frist this thread and then on my FB feed someone wrote this about their daughter sharing an apartment with her male cousin....She cooks for him and is getting him ready for a wife

Why is it the people with this mindset towards women are all drawn to Trump? (that is what is known as a rhetorical question, you do not need to answer)

Maybe all heroes do not wear capes, but if that demon had had her way, all negroes would be dead.
Just pointing out the hypocrisy in the whole thing....It would seem to me that the billionaires that are always going on about population control would make-up the shortfall.

A .gov getting involved in population control is not a good thing. Think the chi-com's one baby policy.

‘When Gov. Ron DeSantis slashed $3 billion from the state’s budget Thursday, one ill-fated item sounded familiar: Just as he did last year, DeSantis vetoed $2 million meant to help low-income people access long-acting birth control.

It was again Senate President Wilton Simpson, a Pasco County Republican, who included it in the $110 billion budget. Unlike last year, though, this veto landed amid a national reckoning on reproductive rights. It came weeks after a leaked Supreme Court opinion suggested the Court will overturn Roe v. Wade, and less than a month before Florida’s new 15-week abortion ban goes into effect.

Stephanie Fraim, the president and CEO of Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida — which includes the organization’s Tampa Bay-area clinics — questioned the rationale for the veto.

“Funding for this sensible investment in the health of our communities enjoys rare bipartisan support,” she said in an emailed statement. “And, thanks to President Biden, the Legislature was able to pass a balanced budget with plenty of money left in reserves. To take away health care from vulnerable people is just another example of his ongoing cruelty to Floridians.”’

DeSantis is not alone among Republicans capable of such cruelty.

Desantis=dictator.

No wonder desantis needs to cheat to be gov. The map.

I don't believe anything from facebook.

The best birth control is free. Just zip up. If you can't afford the kids, keep your legs closed.
Theres is too many rapes.

The UCR Manual contains more information about these definitions.

Florida Statutes

794 Sexual Battery

Summary

Florida had 8,105 Rape and 331 Attempted Rape offenses in 2018.

There were 1,937 arrests for rape in 2018. Of these arrests, 253 were juveniles and 1,684 were adults.

This goes back to paying one way or another.

If you want to ban abortions and make it more difficult for lower income people to obtain birth control, do not be surprised if more people end up on the government dole…

Nobody that truly wants less abortions would also support it being harder for people to obtain birth control. This just tells us there is something here other than caring about the "baby in the womb"

.

Governor DeSantis slashes $3 billion from proposed budget, and $2 million of that is the item the article addresses.

People cry over a drop in the bucket consisting of less than 1% of the cuts made,
while pretending it is the end of the world, and the premier focus of GOP hypocrisy.

Not to suggest Governor DeSantis cared enough to even comment on their objections.
The title of the article should have read ... "Planned Parenthood's Hair is on Fire Because They Didn't Get Their Hush Money."

You can provide contraceptive services without funnelling through Planned Parenthood. Every state has health departments.

Thanks to men who cheat on their wifes. Tramp cheated on 3 wifes.

A state's executive can manage their state's budget any way they want.
You can cry about how that may offend you for whatever stupid reason you feel the need to.

Join the Planned Parenthood choir of unelected partisans if you need to ...
They were the people interviewed in the article and Governor DeSantis wasn't.

DeSantis will cut that too

My goal is to stop abortions. By noting my argument was "partisan" shows where your concerns lie.
