Americans are presently paying 90% of the tariffs put up by Trump. That is an additional $1,000 per year, per household

Then, of course, it's all a LIE.

American consumers are paying an additional tax, the trump tariffs.
And apparently ThisIsMe believes this is somehow winning.

We have no proof that "your tax returned doubled."

And if this is true ^^^^^^ where is this money coming from?

Trump is just shifting money while claiming greatness, and you clowns swallow it up, when in FACT we aren't paying down the National Debt and Prices are up because of tariffs.

The National Debt is increasing at a unprecedented rate, AND you are paying more because of tariffs.

So much winning........ I think NOT.
Yet the cost of living keeps going down not up.

First of all, the inflation rate under Biden only got up to 9.6% (not 20%) and it was due to the pandemic, so not Biden's fault.

Having said that, how does that address the OP in any way. Whether inflation is higher or lower means nothing when you consider that the imposed Trump tariffs are being paid by Americans (not by the nations being tariffed) and that it is costing each family $1000 a year more than they were paying before.

The Tariffs have not helped to bring inflation down, so why are you talking about inflation. Inflation would even be lower if Trump had not put tariffs up. Are you actually happy that you (personally) are paying for them? What benefits have you gotten from the tariffs?
Inflation is cumulative.
Each year's percentage is added on top of the previous years' total worth (i.e. all the inflation percentages of previous years).
This chart will make that more clear;

In Biden's case we add the "AVE"(Average, on right side) of years 2021 thru 2024; = 4.7, 8.0, 4.1, 2.9 and we get a total of 19.7% worth of inflation from his four years. Close enough to call it @20%.

Note that Trump's previous four years total; 7.5% Just over a third of that from Biden's term.

[For a guy who came here claiming to be a financial wizard you sure prove to be dumb. Unless you are intentionally dis-informing(lying)]

New Fed report on Trump’s tariffs confirms what most economists warned about

This has been proved by a recent research by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. "Nearly 90% of the economic burden is borne by American businesses and consumers

Research from the nonpartisan Tax Foundation indicates that tariffs imposed by the Trump administration, including those on China, the EU, Mexico, and Canada, cost the average U.S. household approximately $1,000 in 2025. This amount is projected to rise to $1,300 per household in 2026 if existing tariffs remain in place, with the costs primarily passed on to American consumers and businesses rather than foreign exporters.

and Trump announced this week that more tariffs are coming
It was clear from the very first day that Trump has no grasp of either domestic or global macroeconomics. When he levied a tariff against an island inhabited primarily by PENGUINS, it was clear that this was going to be ugly.

Then he started adding tariffs when someone hurt his feelings, and the cat was out of the bag. The entire world learned what he is, and their eyes opened. Add to this his constant flip-flopping in foreign relations, replete with mockery, trolling, insulting, namecalling, threats and intimidation, and the world has had enough of us.

His enablers are responsible for this. From the craven sycophants nearest him, to congressional Republicans, to the aggressively ignorant useful idiot everyday Trumpsters in the street.

It's clear some "Americans" would rather have the rest of the world continue to gouge the USA/citizens with their tariffs on our exports to them, and not have a level playing field reciprocating tariffs on what the world wants the USA to be paying for their stuff.

Leads one to wonder who's side some of these so-called concerned "Americans" are on.

Yes. these so-called concerned democrat "Americans" are completely ignorant of the fact that many European tariffs on US products date back to the end of WW2 when the US was assisting the rebuild of Europe.

How much a year does the consumer pay for the corporate taxes you loons love ?

Not all taxes are equal.

Any nonprogressive tax transfers the tax burden more to lower earners.

Unacceptable, in a society with such an embarrassingly large wealth and income gap.

Which I went on to note.......

Are you suggesting that there should be none (or lower) corporate taxes?

If so, how does that help Americans?

Corporate taxes are primarily used by federal, state, and local governments to generate revenue for funding public services, infrastructure projects (roads, transportation), education systems, and government initiatives. They act as a, progressive tax reducing inequality by ensuring companies contribute to the public resources—such as courts and legal systems—that protect their business operations and assets.

You do not want our style of life to continue to the funded?

Deflection answer. You have no balls. Cannot face reality
Facts are facts.

Facts are facts.

What does obesity have to do with the way that Trump handled Covid and the deaths that resulted from his incompetent handling?

If you think businesses don't add the cost of corporate taxes to the price of their goods and services you are a idiot. Corporate taxes are a thinly veiled Federal sales tax that the consumer pays.

You can't ***** about tariffs and support corporate taxes without looking like a hypocritical idiot.

Yet trump's budget and polocies greatly increase spending and the deficits.

Do you ever pause and wonder why you dont care that the President does the opposite of what you say you want?

Or do you just change what you want to align with the cult leader?

We republicans lost on this issue years ago.

EVERYTIME, we bring it up, you dems demonize us as wanting to "stop grandma's check".

And it worked.

So, you win. We will just run the budget into the ground until it blows up.

I gave up the ghost on this one, long before Trump was around.

Corporation pays a tax that covers police, fire, roads etc. Even if it is passed along it is being paid by those who benefit from it as opposed to those who would otherwise have to pay to cover it all.

Lol. The consumer is covering it all.

Of the corporations portion. Otherwise people outside have to. Why shouldn't the corporation and their customers pay as opposed to those not related to the business at all?

Why should they if the taxes are for the common good?
