American Women Are Giving Up on Marriage

There are low wages, across the board. So when the jobs come back now people will cry that higher wages across the board creates inflation. Wages have been low for decades.

So, to be clear, your answer to "low wages" is just to accept it?

How do we fight that when the big business folk have been running the nation since forever? You think they're going to help people get ahead? Cmon.

I'm asking you what your answer to this issue is.

I've been clear that I want higher wages.

What is your position?

People who want families want to get married adn have families.
Historically, you are correct. But there are a growing number of people who are opting for child birth without marriage for whatever reason. I've personally known women who have had children out of wed lock for every reason between unplanned/teen, to not being able to find Mr. Right before their biological clock runs out, to not liking men in general, to wanting a career but not necessarily marriage. The reasons are as varied as personalities. The age old maxims are being questioned and rebelled against--IMO to the detriment of society, but mankind doesn't seem too interested in societal norms anymore.

Agreed. But how are we going to ever get that? If we think corporate heads care about this stuff we're kidding ourselves. All they care about is their pocketbook and a workforce, and a cheap one at that.

The population is crashing.
I've already addressed this ^^^, your contention is false. The world population IS NOT declining. It does not matter if the US birthrate is showing a minor decline, the population IS INCREASING. Your belief that it is because of "immigration" is irrelevant. The US and world population figures are still increasing.

I think you are putting the cart before the horse to a certain extent.

When women have to have children out of wedlock because they could not find an acceptable mate, that is a problem with society to be addressed,

not accepted.

So, we are in agreement, we both want higher wages for workers.

Good. That will make having a stay at home homemaker easier. Or at least a short term PART TIMER, who can cover most of child care so as to keep the children with family.

That will be a huge step in the right direction, as I have said.

AND, also as I pointed out, we don't have to WAIT till we finish, to see if it works. If it does that that impact, we would be able to see it start slowing and pick up as wages rise.

This may be off topic, but I have a problem with your statement. Since I became aware of population figures in the late 50s, the world population has increased almost three fold. I have not seen any figures that suggest a declining world population for any year during that entire time. It may have slowed year over year but the population is not declining.
Perhaps you don't understand demographics.

...So, we as a society are choosing to have a "market" that allows stagnant wages.
Do you want the government to control the market? We know how well that works out...

You did address it.

But I addressed your counter points.

You are ignoring the harm suffered by the men and women that failed to create the families they wanted

and importing people for the THIRD WORLD, is not hte same has having more AMERICANS.

I suppose you would be at the front of the line in the past to point at the aging school marm as an "old maid." Interpersonal relations have nothing to do with societal norms nor should they. If anything, they are adversely affected by societal pressures that are as often as not, WRONG. Societal manipulation is why we have such cockamamie ideas as 87 genders.

I want policy to protect American jobs and American workers.

If TRADE is not to our benefit, I don't care if it is CHINA or freaking GREAT BRITAIN, we should just walk away from that shit, until someone is willing to make a better deal.

Interpersonal relations are driven by societal norms.

And right now, our societial norms are fucked up and it is making it harder for people to find the mates they want and to thus have the families they want.

And that is a human tragedy for millions, if not tens of millions of people.

Another false contention. Two earner families will still be necessary because as wages increase, so do prices in every category from childcare to grocery and energy prices. The biggest and most effective change we can make to this is simply making government more efficient and taxing less. Much of that can only be accomplished by making the population more responsible and self sufficient and less dependent on a nanny state.
