American History

As an American, I get independence history wrong because -

  • To feel macho

  • Ignorance

  • Poor education system

  • Outside the US, I hope they don't know our history

Why do so many Americans get American Independence history so wrong?

Why do they think it was about guns and Joe public with guns saved them? Why do they omit the French involvement?

I've lost count how often this happens.

Apparently the statue is of a Frenchie dude who fought on the side of the Americans. The little cannon thing is a "Coehorn mortar". They sell reproductions today that burn black powder and are fun to shoot. Ignorance and a poor education system that doesn't teach much more than putting a condom on a banana.

1977, the government refused to repair a bridge in the town of Vulcan, West Virginia. The town council wrote a letter to the Soviet Embassy asking them to fix the bridge. This became a newspaper sensation, and shortly thereafter the government agreed to provide money to fix the bridge.
We all urgently need the USSR Embassy, paper and pen...

They fought a civil war and cant agree what it was about (slavery). And history is banned in the more backward states.
