Greed comes in many sizes and forms.Who do youthink developed that technology? It wasn't Taiwan. Companies closed down here and moved to where they could get away with starvation wages. Greed is the reason we don't do that here any more.
"We" did such to our selves when we started to buy the $2 pancake flipper made in 'China'~CCP or Taiwan~ rather than the $4 pancake flipper made in the USA.
Can't blame the "companies"/"Corps" for seeing that writing on the wall and shifting production to overseas.
Then there is the factor of many of we USA workers, investing into IRAs and 401Ks and "Union" pension funds which buy stock and invest in businesses and industries that show profit and growth, and guess where those such moved and shifted to ???
These economic factors are often a bit more complex, involved, and convoluted than the simpleton minds of Leftist and psuedo-Liberals can comprehend, especially given their level of ignorance on basic economics and business (Profit vs Loss).
Alas, long-term thinking, whether it be several years or a few decades down the road, has never been a strong suit of Americans, be it in commerce/industry or Guv'mint. Hence few appreciated that our largess to rebuild the industries and economies of those nations we destroyed in the course of World War Two, would within decades come back strong enough to be threats on the production and economic fronts they have become.
"being nice" to those we destroyed and defeated during a global war, in the post-war reconstruction, has been our self-inflected destruction. There was a point decades back where we should have stopped slitting our own economic and industrial throats.
