You and pknopp better go read the fucking UN Resolution about Libya. And when you do, you will find out that war was done by France, the UK and Lebanon. And it was approved by the UN Security Council. Syria was already a failed state were where ISIS was. And everybody now talking stupid about Obama were all about ending ISIS. Obama didn't start any pre emptive wars. He inherited 2. He got out of Iraq.

And once one removes all the nonsense out of this, the reason is actually rather obvious. Other than adjustments for inflation, we are still at the same manpower and budget limits that we were during the Obama Administration. Since 2012, the manpower allowances by the DoD have been largely unchanged.

The real answer is really simple, we are not allowed to have the number of troops because the White House, Congress and Pentagon will not allow it. We are currently in what is probably the longest draw-down of US forces ever, 16 years at this time and counting. And no matter who wins the election in 2024, that is going to be a draw-down of at least 20 years.

This is largely a politically driven nonsensical statement, because if the order is given to start increasing manpower, we will have the manpower within 3-6 months. We simply need to give the orders to allow the military to increase their numbers.
