But for the Signal App incident the questions still remain, there is no other way such a reporters number would be handy to the staffer. And yes, it's politically correct because there are enough incidences like with Fang Fang, and Dianne Feinstein's driver, & the arrests in NY, where the Chinese American is indeed compromised or willing participants for the CCP.

One must ask regarding the Signal App incident: WHY would the staffer have that reporter's number unless he was a mole/leaker?
If it was Wong as the TX delegate reported, then also ask: Any ties to the CCP?
Then why add the reporter? Ask yourself: Could adding the reporter give the CCP easier access to the communications being the reporter's house or system might be open access to CCP less suspected compared to a staff member? Could the reporter be compromised unsuspected or does he have ties to foreign agents or unholy alliances himself?

A DHS staffer faces serious punishment for accidentally adding a reporter to a group email​

A federal worker accidentally includes a journalist on a detailed message in advance of a government operation.

While that sounds like the case of The Atlantic’s editor-in-chief being added to a group Signal chat by Trump’s national security adviser Michael Waltz, in which Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth shared detailed military attack plans in Yemen, it’s not.

It’s what happened to a longtime Department of Homeland Security employee who told colleagues she inadvertently sent unclassified details of an upcoming Immigration and Customs Enforcement operation to a journalist in late January, according to former ICE chief of staff Jason Houser, one former DHS official and one current DHS official. (The two officials spoke on the condition of anonymity because they do not want to endanger their current or future career opportunities.)

But unlike Waltz and Hegseth, who both remain in their jobs, the career DHS employee was put on administrative leave and told late last week that the agency intends to revoke her security clearance, the officials said.

The Trump administration, meanwhile, has largely rallied around Waltz and Hegseth, with Trump on Wednesday calling it “all a witch hunt.”

Regarding the email DHS incident: emails add wrong people on lists all the time, I was on the MN Senator's email accidentally, because I corresponded with former Senator Al Franken to help stop the Comcast Time Warner Merger
(I was that Consumer advocate they mentioned helped him, but did not name). So when they transfer power the emails get inherited by the new staff who utilize them to promote their activities to their assumed voter base while others who never gave permission to that candidate get spammed.
In the case of the DHS they thought it was probably intentional forbidden obstruction and leaker like to be acceptble or at least proper protocol is put on leave until they find out as it's being investigated.

Generals and high level VIPs, like secretaries, are not responsible for anything technical. They all have their own personal aides and IT staff. These people even have their own drivers.

Do you honestly think Joe Biden was getting on a Cisco IP phone to setup conference calls? Do you think any of these political appointed staff know technology? No, they don’t. They aren’t responsible for setting such things up, their staff is. Did Pete Hegseth order the aide to break protocol? Nope. This is all on the staff, either the personal aides or the IT staff.
