Clearly, in Gabbard's mind either you support the failed Assad dictatorship whic is (was) dependent on Iran and Russia, both US adversaries/enemies, or you support al Qaeda, but she astonishingly neglects to mention that the Assad dictatorship is part of a Shia alliance and the rebels she dismisses as al Qaedd Sunni and Sunni and what has been called a civil war in Syria is really Assad's war against the Sunni.

This is not the kind of simplistic thinking one would want as the leader of national intelligence.

Every time she opens her mouth she makes matters worse. She claims the US should not try to impose our values on the Syrians at a time when Syria is being run by Iran and Russia, and she claims all the Sunni who are fighting to overthrow the Assad government are al Qaeda and that all the people who disagree with her assessment of the situation want to invade other countries and impose our values on them.

Her thinking is just too naive and simplistic and her comments too self-serving to be put in charge of national intelligence.
