Merit based is what we absolutely require and demand of our military and actually all aspects of government funded by the taxpayers.

I'm seeing much hand wringing and wailing on Facebook et al as people report that this or that government grant has been cancelled. And of course they all condemn President Trump for this. But not once have I seen anybody explain why that grant was important, what it actually accomplished, and all included aspects of DEI.

You can't make an omelet without breaking some eggs. You can't cut spending and restore financial integrity and sustainability without cutting out the waste, inefficiency, ineffectiveness, fraud/corruption in government. And that includes ending all outlays for 'feel good' or 'pork barrel' grants for projects, research or whatever that does absolutely nothing to improve the quality of life for all American citizens and makes American stronger/better/more free/more prosperous for all.
