First, its the hardest state in the Union to attract industry/jobs other than fishing, trapping and the oil industry to. I mean it gets deadly cold there, all exports have to go a long distance and they get like 2 months of complete darkness.

Second, there is no income, sales or gas take in AK.

Third, a good part of the industry in ANWR is considered off limits. That would solve their job needs.

Lastly, in AK each adult receives $1,500 for their budget SURPLUS! and $1,800 from the OIL company reserves. So a married couple receives $6,600 a yr for being in AK!

As usual, your take on the story doesn't add up. You're trying to say that because she's rejecting Federal money with strings attached, people on unemployment will suffer. Not true. The State has billions of dollars in reserve. They don't need federal money with strings attached, especially since this money has been borrowed from our grandchildren.

EXACTLY - this so-called stimulus package has far more to do with further centralizing of federal power than it does helping the economy.

Palin has voiced that concern recently, and it appears she is standing up to that reality.

Sarah is a conservative governor and has plenty of money in her states coffer to pay unemployment benefits, as do some of the other states. She has been one of the few responsible governors that actually saved money for these rainy days. Something that other governors and lesilatures should learn from.
