I think you overestimate human intelligence and underestimate machine intelligence. Machines may never be human but that doesn't mean they will never be sentient.

I think you underestimate intelligence. Machines will always be inanimate objects. Intelligence and sentience are artifacts of living things. They call it ARTIFICIAL intelligence for a reason. It's not real intelligence. It's calculations.

Rubbish. We already see cases where it definitely is. All that is needed is to feed it slanted data. GIGO. Even Noble prize winners are susceptible to that. See the collapse of Long Term Capital Management for how that works, and the fact that nobody learned a damn thing from it and went on to even bigger crashes. This is just that on a larger scale, is all.
