Let me try this again... on planet earth, considering all technologies, where does the vast majority of waste heat from generating electricity come from?

Fossil fuels. Look at the cooling towers for fossil fuels and nuclear. Then there is the CO2 production from the fossil fuels. For natural gas, not just CO2 but also H2O. Solar and wind are by far less damaging environmentally than are fossil fuels.
