Agriculture secretary says there will be 'no amnesty' for migrants, adults on Medicaid can replace them in workforce

Of course you don't

of course you don't but get off your high horse

I mention the salary range and that was all. So learn how to read and understand what is being written.

What is the salary range of a Cotton Picker?

As of July 01, 2025, the average annual salary for a Cotton Picker in the United States ranges from $26,163 (25th percentile) to $29,848 (75th percentile), with a median annual salary of $27,825 and an hourly rate of $13. A Cotton Picker's salary is shaped by several key factors, including experience level, specific skills, industry differences, company size, and more. Below, we'll explore how each of these influences compensation.

Instead of trying to do your happy dance. realize that a cotton picker can be used to mean the person operating the equipment in todays world. It does not mean they are picking by hand. That is yor interpretation. So realize something else. Your not as smart as you think.

You see how you misinterpreted what was written in order for you get on that high horse.

You act like your the only one who knows that mechanical cotton pickers are used.

But I see you taken the words cotton picker in the wrong context because you wanted to sound important
Guess what cotton pickers are also the ones who operate the machinery.

Class dismissed.
$13 per hour? Ummm nope. Thats a slap in the face. Nobody needs to harvest the cotton for that rate. Kick it up to at least $20 per hour plus full benefits.

You don’t need to keep cheering me up.

I’m already pretty happy.

The thread title seems misleading.

What's wrong a little fresh air and working in a field too hard?
Whether it's on a farm or construction it's all good.
Better than the boob tube or video games.
Working 20 hours a week get paid and a perk like Medicare and living in mom's basement.
i doubt that many working on medicaid can do field work....many able bodied workers wont last doing that,,,field work is something you have to be born into, hence why they have migrant workers who go to different areas when the crops are ready....these people have been doing this their whole lives, medicaid people?....nope....

So there are a couple of problems here.

They have never really told us what "able bodies" is in their point of view.

And most of these folk on Medicaid who can work already do.

Actually, if you were paying attention, you would have heard the definition of "able bodied". Its someone who isn't disabled and receiving SSI.

I'll take your word on your statement that "most" medicaid recipients work, but there are millions upon millions of recipients and the minority, possibly up to 49% of them, is a lot of available workers.

We dont need them in fields. Those jobs can be eliminated.

Well dont [sic] plant the ones that do
This ^^^ Rain Man douche bag does nothing but repeat the very few thoughts he has ever had. His very clear agenda is that he doesn't want anyone to work, get married, or have children. Just another selfish, nihilistic old man who wants the world to end at the same time he does. A blight on serious discussion.

Many Medicaid recipients are in nursing homes.

Here is a picture of some slackers now:
