After the Tennessee Shooting, Maybe Now Conservatives Will Turn Against Assault Weapons Because They Hate Transgenders

Nope, you were left sputtering when I pointed out that Capitalism has caused Famines just as bad as the Commie Famines.

The ironic thing is, America doesn't have famines because we have a "SOCIALIST" Agriculture system, where we have one USDA Bureaucrat for every 7 active Farmers, and spend 470 BILLION dollars propping up the agriculture industry to keep food cheap and make farming viable.

The ironic thing is, even spelling out “SOCIALIST” in capital letters doesn’t support your claim that the US agricultural program is “SOCIALIST”.

Can you spell out “SILLY” in capital letters? That adds that extra bit of silly melodrama to your disjointed piffle.

Um, okay. What if your God (Only worshipped by 1/4 of the humans on planet Earth) isn't the actual God? I ask this because your bible has a whole bunch of rules about Slavery, burning witches, murdering people for minor offenses, etc. that even the most fanatical Christians disassociate themselves from. God didn't change his mind on slavery or witch-burning, we changed ours.

Okay. I have to admit, I've not lived on the wild side. I've probably been used by women more than using them, never took drugs, never really had an alcohol problem (although I drank a LOT when I was in the service, because that was the culture).

the problem with a lot of religious people is that their view on "Right or wrong" comes from a book that advocated burning witches but though owning slaves was acceptable.

My standard on right or wrong is actually a simple one. Does my action harm another? If not, there's nothing immoral about it.

So my view on homosexuality is, as long as everyone is a consenting adult, and no harm is done (outside the usual wear and tear of relationships) then it's not immoral. If someone thinks they are a woman, but they aren't bothering anyone, there's nothing immoral about that, either.

Not really what i asked, so I'll try again.

Did you ever talk to any of these gay people (most of whom probably had substance abuse problems dealing with bigots all day) and find out how the became gay? Did any of them tell you, "I saw a drag queen read a story once, and decided to become gay!" I'm guessing not. If you talked to them openly, every last one of them would tell you that they knew they were gay even before they hit puberty.

And I'm sure you don't like it when black people get "uppity", either.
First off ... this conversation will go absolutely nowhere since it's clear that you have little knowledge or understanding of the Scriptures. We're speaking two, entirely different languages. I've been a student of the Bible since I quit drinking in 1984 and turned to Christ in 1988. You've already revealed so many misnomers that I'd have to write an entire book to negate them.

1) The Bible already makes it clear that only a small percentage of humans will "hear" and "see" His message. That is to say that you have to listen with "spiritual ears" and see with "spiritual eyes." Not everyone is in touch with the Holy Spirit. "Broad is the way that leads to destruction" but "narrow" is the path to righteousness. "Many are called, but few are chosen." Etc.
2) Law is a fact of life. You and I have to follow the laws of our city, state, and nation. There are consequences for breaking the law. The same is true (but on a grander scale) of God and His Law. He blesses them who follow (or attempt to follow) His laws and punishes them who willingly knowingly break His laws.
3) The idea of "consenting adults" is generally overstated. When two adults "consent" to sin ... it's still a sin. If the Mafia strong-arms a business owner and the owner "consents" to pay extortion money ... the law has still be broken even if both parties have a mutual agreement. The business owners will pay the money and, in return, his business is protected by the Mafia. So if two homosexuals consent to commit a sin ... it's still a sin.
4) As for whether my God is the "real" God or not is a faith based question. I believe that there's only one way that the universe and everything in it came to be. Since I believe that it was the result of intelligent design, I believe that there's only one Maker or Designer. I believe that through faith. When I was searching for answers after I quit booze and drugs ... I went to a bookstore and bought several books from the "religious" or "spiritual" section of the bookstore. I chose a book on eastern religion; a couple of commentaries on spiritual matters; and a Bible. I ultimately accepted the Bible and rejected the others. So believe that I was led to the Bible by a force greater than myself, Whom I call the "Holy Spirit." I believe in Him based on faith rather than tangible evidence.

Just like there were famines in China before the Communists took over.

It took Communism to create by far the most spectacular and deadly famine that Mankind has ever known.

When has capitalism ever comes anywhere close to matching The Great Leap Forward?

Looking at this chart, it seems that even before it went Commie, China had a bit of a talent for famines, but from about a third of the way into the 20th century, it stands out that China and the Soviet Union, even leaving out the Great Leap Forward, seem to have each managed to achieve greater famines that all the Capitalist nations combined.

There were some interesting observations that Boris Yeltsin made, after a visit to the United States, about the contrast between the abundance and variety of food easily available to common people here, compared to what was available in the Soviet Union, even to the very most elite.

"When I saw those shelves crammed with hundreds, thousands of cans, cartons and goods of every possible sort, for the first time I felt quite frankly sick with despair for the Soviet people," Yeltsin wrote. "That such a potentially super-rich country as ours has been brought to a state of such poverty! It is terrible to think of it."

"Even the Politburo doesn't have this choice. Not even Mr. Gorbachev," he said.

Famine seems to be a built-in feature of Communism, even when it isn't being artificially created and enhanced for malevolent political purposes.

Well, the Genocide of Native Americans to start with.
I could also throw in there the attempted genocide of Chinese people by the Japanese Empire, a Capitalist state.

NO, man, famine is a built in feature of civilization. When you have a large part of the population relying on agriculture they don't participate in directly, you are going to have famines.

The problem here is that our agriculture is FAR more socialist than the USSR's ever was.

We not only subsidize farmer to grow it, we subsidize poor people to eat (SNAP, WIC, School Lunches).

When you dodged that there have been Capitalist famines and genocides.
Never dodged. You excused the millions of people slaughtered by your Stalinist / Leninist heroes with your usual tactic of dodging any accountability by sidestepping and deflecting.

Well, I gave you the support, but you didn't understand it. Hey, did you notice how after Trump put tariffs on China, he had to compensate farmers for the food the Chinese stopped buying? SOCIALISM.

Um, yeah, okay. I went to Catholic School for 12 years, and figured out the bible was largely bullshit by the 5th Grade.

Well, that sounds kind of messed up. I go back to my comment that Jeffrey Dahmner gets into Heaven (because he embraced Jesus) but Ann Frank goes to Hell (because she didn't), and then you realize the general injustice of Christian "Salvation".

Except we don't burn witches or stone our neighbors for working on the Sabbath anymore, despite God's demand we do so. God didn't change his mind, we changed ours.

Well, no, the business owner doesn't consent, he is coerced. This is at best a poor analogy.

Do you have any argument against homosexuality that doesn't consist of "God Says It's Bad" and "I think it's Icky"?

Hey, man, whatever gets you through the night.

As long as you aren't trying to impose your bronze age superstitions on the rest of us.

Well, you gave me a reason why you believe your Stalinist / Leninist heroes should be excused for their mass murders. This was after you insisted that Stalin never manufactured a famine that would eventually kill millions of Ukrainians. You insisted that Stalinist / Leninist regimes are your preferred sociopath-economic model because famine has occurred elsewhere. Of course, you failed to make any case where those “capitalist” famines were inflicted as a punitive measure as was the case with your hero Stalin.

You went so far as to offer a pointless comparison to the Irish potato famine which resulted from a mold.

Hey, did you notice you offered another completely ridiculous compassion to SOCIALISM with your silly tariff analogy?

Well, it's debateable if the famine was Stalin's intent, or if it was just bad management... Again, if you want to hold people to account for Death by Bad Management, when are you going to hold Trump accountable for Covid?

You went so far as to offer a pointless comparison to the Irish potato famine which resulted from a mold.

Except I pointed out to you IN FUCKING DETAIL how British policy toward Ireland devastated Ireland, while the rest of Europe had the same mold and said, "Whoops, we aren't having potatoes tonight."

Actually, it’s not debatable that the famine engineered by Stalin was anything but purposeful. Again, you offer nothing but excuses for your sociopathic hero.

The Ukrainian Genocide

"In the case of the Holodomor, this was the first genocide that was methodically planned out and perpetrated by depriving the very people who were producers of food of their nourishment (for survival). What is especially horrific is that the withholding of food was used as a weapon of genocide and that it was done in a region of the world known as the ‘breadbasket of Europe’.” – Prof. Andrea Graziosi, University of Naples.

Except you choose to remain clueless about the Irish potato famine.

The Irish Potato Famine, also known as the Great Hunger, began in 1845 when a mold known as Phytophthora infestans (or P. infestans) caused a destructive plant disease that spread rapidly throughout Ireland. The infestation ruined up to one-half of the potato crop that year, and about three-quarters of the crop over the next seven years.

You’re really just developmentally slow, right?

Even if our “bronze age superstitions” were as bad as you try to make them out to be, they would still be a huge improvement over the sick, insane, immoral, fucked-up shit that your side wants to force on society.

Uh, sure Bob. So you are okay if someone stones you to death because you decided to do a little yard work on Sunday....

Does stalking people on the internet on Sunday count as breaking the Sabbath? You might be in trouble.

Actually, it’s not debatable that the famine engineered by Stalin was anything but purposeful.

Actually, it kind of is. Grain exports were one of the few sources of income the USSR had in the 1930's. Jeopardizing that by killing off your farmers wouldn't be a smart move.

Not to say there weren't MASSIVE fuckups, because there were.

But again, I don't think Trump set out to kill a million Americans with Covid, either.

Your inability to pay attention suggests a disorder.

On the other hand, your 20th century, Soviet Age superstitions are really creepy. Your magical sky daddy; Stalin, decided to kill millions of people because they had a desire for autonomy.
