Advice on both my employees

Both employees are very stable and mature and very reliable . This has been almost impossible to achieve the last 4.5 yrs

Bad news - both are kind of “ sissies “ and they don’t up sell !!!

I am great at turning $12 prices to $32 dollars

I have spoken to them and they understand but still don’t produce

If I fired them both there is no telling what I will get next
 
Honest folks tend to be reliable and hard workers.

. . . so, you want to try to turn folks that are honest, with integrity against their nature?

Up-selling and being pushy/chancing just isn't in some folks natures.

I'd be inclined to keep them for the positives you mentioned because if you get a couple of wasters in their place, it's not always that easy to just get rid and flip them. It's quite hard to get rid of someone just because you don't like them and they're poor at their job - even things like non-compliance and unreliability, if the employees are clued up can get around that very easily too by pulling a few cards.

I'd try re-training the existing two and addressing concerns they have about up-selling - it might be a confidence thing. Reassure them.

Exhaustion from working all day alone probably. Upselling is annoying. I stopped frequenting a local store that always presses cashiers to upsell candybars and crap at the registers.
 
Upselling ?? In my franchise is different
I basically name the price and they either pay it or leave. It’s 50-50

Any sales technique in I take a giant step backwards. I'm more than willing to back out of the original sale.

I love to call them on their sales technique and laugh at them and tell them how silly it is and how I am insulted by it

I am not the worst this year !!!
I was the worst in 2019 and 20
. This year I have jumped over at least 5 franchises!!!

I go right to the big upsell or I get zero
