Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) said Thursday that House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) should deliver the oath of office to Rep.-elect Adelita Grijalva (D-Ariz.).
“She should be sworn in,” Greene said during an appearance on CNN’s “The Source.”
The Georgia representative has railed against Johnson’s decision to keep the lower chamber out of session until the government shutdown is resolved.
The government shutdown has no bearing on whether or not the House is open and doing the peoples business. It is not shut down because the government is. It is shut down for purely partisan political reasons, and the cowardice and fear of both Mike Johnson, and Donald Trump. Not only should Democrats not negotiate at all with Republicans on opening the government back up, but they should force Republicans hand on ending the filibuster, setting the precedent of killing 100 years of conservative law and policy. But also forcing them to open the House, and swear in Adelita Grijalva as a condition of moving forward with anything. The citizens of her district are now paying taxes without representation. When payback time comes, you're going to be just fine with that right?
Just 360 days until the midterms. tick tock
