About Trumps picks.

Let's see what Musk and Ramaswamy do on government efficiency.
They need to 'walk in the shoes' of any agency they review, so I don't think they will be very effective. Also, they don't know the strength of the forces they will be dealing with. :dev3:

Don don't care. He's one and done. Expect him to personally take a sledgehammer to the bureaucracy.
It ought to be interesting to watch.

You left out someone to be the correct person to destroy some of those institutions, without Don having to get his hands dirty on the demolition itself.
Which of our ‘institutions’ shouldn’t be or aren’t already destroyed?
(my bet is you can’t be specific)

I still like the Department of Defense, but of course, they send me a check every month and provide us great healthcare.

I'd say more "return them to what they were legislated to be instead of the bloated monstrosities they have become. "

Better to do this now than wait 10 years for the avalanche of lawsuits in the works now that Chevron Deference is gone.

Which ones were legislated into existence by Congress rather than executive order?

All of the agencies were either created by legislation, or acquire their power through legislation.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is an independent agency of the United States government tasked with environmental protection matters.[2] President Richard Nixon proposed the establishment of EPA on July 9, 1970; it began operation on December 2, 1970, after Nixon signed an executive order.[3] The order establishing the EPA was ratified by committee hearings in the House and Senate.

The United States Department of Education is a cabinet-level department of the United States government. It began operating on May 4, 1980, having been created after the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare was split into the Department of Education and the Department of Health and Human Services by the Department of Education Organization Act, which President Jimmy Carter signed into law on October 17, 1979.[3][4]

On July 26, 1947, Truman signed the National Security Act of 1947, which set up a unified military command known as the National Military Establishment and created the Central Intelligence Agency, the National Security Council, National Security Resources Board, United States Air Force, and the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

So, you are saying, Congress, controlled by him, would not go along? Hmmm.

I am saying the agencies have over the past 4 decades overstepped their legislative granted bounds, and all it takes is Executive actions to bring them back in line to a certain degree.
