About Trump's parade.

Which will help the local economy. It will be interesting to see the parade costs, minus the positive economic impact and tax revenue.

So wait...

..... ..... ..... What?

..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... We now measure government spending by local economic impact?
.

.
When did that become a thing?

It should be a thing in this case to counter those who believe the parade is too expensive.

"One man's bill is another man's paycheck."

News sources and some Democrats decry the parade as a waste of money citing figures of tens to over a hundred million dollars in costs to put it on. But, what are the facts?

Every serviceperson is being paid whether they are in the parade or not.
All the equipment and armaments are already paid for.
If the fuel wasn't being used to parade it would be used in training.
Parading is part of the military experience and is a discipline all its own (I paraded a lot when in the service).

So, parading our military isn't all that expensive.

Bringing in dozens of tanks and Bradleys by rail (and then sending them back) is not cheap.

Nor is the considerable disruption of the airways on Saturday, as National Airport is all but closed.

Already they have had to put pads under the tanks where they are parked to keep them from breaking the pavement (which they will do). There will be a LOT of road damage in and around the mall because of this.

You assume that these tanks are used in training every weekend.

The reviewing stands, promotions and jumbotrons all have to be paid for.

Helicoptors and jets do not make routine flyovers of the mall.

The feeding of kids and the elderly is not the responsibility of the Federal Government.

I personally couldn't care less if this parade goes off or not. As for the money, anytime a leftist complains about the money spent, they should get a Louisville Slugger upside the head.

Says the guy who cheered for Trump when he added 5 trillion to the debt and proposes to add 2 more in his current bill.

You have the wrong guy. I'm all for doing what Musk did.

Cut the fuck out of the budget until it balances.

CUT IT UNTIL IT BALANCES

It will cost about $40M.

Trump worshipers are concocting excuses aplenty, but it's still a costly, national embarrassment.

The majority of Republican veterans are not supportive of Trump's military parade ...
A poll of veterans across political parties, conducted by Data for Progress and Common Defense, found that when asked, "Do you support or oppose ordering active duty U.S. military troops to perform a parade in honor of Trump's birthday?", 70 percent of all veterans said they oppose Trump's military parade, including 54 percent of Republican veterans, 71 percent of Independent veterans, and 96 percent of Democratic veterans.
